Here, we took a chance as all the reviews seemed almost too good to be true. Since our stay at Kandalama Lodge we’ve stayed in many hotels around Sri Lanka. A handful were more costly than Kandalama Lodge and each time we’ve been disappointed. Wedge, the hotel owner was one the most thoughtful and intuitive hoteliers that I’ve come across in this country! His team at the lodge also understood the standards he expected. The lodge has been crafted with such care and precision in a way I’ve not seen anywhere else in Sri Lanka. The layout of the lodge, the plants and flowers around the pool, dining and bar area are reminiscent for me of a high end lodge I stayed at in Bali. Perfection! Don’t get me started on the dreamy outdoor bathroom, wow! Also, I have to say, the food is superb and reasonably priced. Amila is always on hand with his tuk tuk and he’s just the nicest person. The price to go to Lion Rock and Dambulla Cave were reasonable and he didn’t try to upsell us at all. The grounds boys are lovely and keep the pool area and grounds tidy. Honesty I can’t say enough about this place, thank you so much Wedge! I hope we have the pleasure to stay with you again one day.

The room has enough space, clean and the beds are huge with comfortable mattresses. It is located in a quiet area, the air is so fresh at night time so we sleep without fan. We were charmed by the place, which was surrounded by greenery and tranquility. The rooms were very clean and well maintained. The hosts were extremely kind, warm and hospitable. They sent us off with a rich and very tasty breakfast. We regret that we only stayed for one night and hope to come back again someday.

Beautiful small hotel with swimming pool. Large rooms with AC and ceiling fan. Mini fridge. Hot and cold showers. Hosts were extremely helpful. Short tuktuk drive to lion rock. Hotel arranged safari half day trip where we saw loads of elephants as well as a day trip to polonnaruwa ancient ruins in a jeep and gave us a tuktuk rides wherever we needed including early morning to lions rock. Breakfast was amazing, home made fresh every morning, tea, coffee, toast with butter and jam, fresh fruits and some local sri lankan breakfast items which varied each day but were all delicious. Provided bottle drinking water and pool towels. Right in the middle of nature with 100s of birds in the garden. Short walk to multiple restaurants.

Honestly can't recommend Sigiriya Lake Paradise enough! Stayed here for 5 nights and it felt like home. The location is stunning literally on a lake with a view of Lion's Rock. Chami and the family are super friendly and helpful, they even came with me on some day trips and made sure I was sorted with everything. And the food Absolutely delicious.If you're heading to Sigiriya, definitely book in here. You won't regret it.
