The private rooms feature an en suite bathroom, while dormitory rooms have access to shared bathroom facilities. Some rooms feature garden or sea views. Brilliant water front accomodation. Just short walk away to the beach for laying on the sand. Great bbq but go early as the queue is long! Short walk up the beach and through the gap takes you to turtle point if you want to snorkle for giant green turtles. Snorkle tour B was fab
Perhentian Island
Located in Perhentian Island, 800 metres from Petani Beach, Perhentian Nemo Chalet offers beachfront accommodation and various facilities, such as a private beach area. The chalet features family rooms.
Each unit is equipped with a private bathroom, while some rooms are equipped with a terrace and others also offer a sea view. At the chalet complex, some units are soundproof.
This property is right on the beach of the smaller of the two Perhentian Islands (Pulau Perhentian Kecil) and has its own jetty, which is extremely helpful in moving luggage into the resort. Because you reach the Perhentian Islands by water taxi and are let off at a jetty or on the beach, if your hotel is not adjacent to the jetty, you will need to carry your bags across the sand to your hotel. Consider this when packing! Our room was exactly as pictured on the website, with two sets of twin beds side-by-side and a fifth bed in a corner nook. The room was clean, with a bathroom set up in the usual style we've seen in Southeast Asia. Entrance to the rooms are outside, and you climb concrete stairs to reach them. We were on the top (third) tier of the building in a corner room. All rooms look directly out on the ocean and have a shared balcony from which you enter the rooms. The staff was incredibly helpful. There is a small cafe that serves just snacks and soft drinks in the Reception area. Nemo Chalet is by the fishermen's village, so we were immediately immersed in the island culture. By good fortune, we came across a small store connected with the Mentari Save Park Hotel. The store is run by the son and daughter-in-law (Asyraf and Aina) of the hotel owner, and they became the biggest influence on our stay. We didn't have enough Malaysian money for things we wanted to do, so Aina took us to a small shop that is also an authorized BSN Bank, and a very competent woman gave us cash off my ATM card. We preferred to hire a boat rather than join a snorkeling group, and Aina reserved their pink speedboat with several rows of cushioned seats under a roof that shaded us from the sun. The boatman, named Pokjue, spoke English. We spent a lovely day snorkeling around both Perhentian Islands.
Perhentian Island
Located just a 15-minute walk from the beach, Perhentian Island Cocohut Long Beach Resort offers accommodation in Pulau Perhentian Kecil.
Fine selections of local dishes are offered at Cocohut Long Beach Restaurant. Fresh seafood choices are also available.
This place is a gem for this price. Well okay rooms are bit dated but they are super clean, aircon is good and garden around huts is nice. I noticed some people complain its far away from beach and difficult to reach. Truth is that path from main beach is actually 120 m long and max 8% elevation... I guess its too much for someone. overall a great experience

The staff was really nice and helpful. The small chalets were very nice and cozy. Mama’s is located really close to some beautiful beaches and there is a very nice restaurant with super breakfasts at cheap prices.
Lovely room and full of privacy but alas couldn’t really enjoy the outdoors ( the room has an outer wall and door and private garden) as at night there is an army of blood thirsty mosquitoes and we didn’t pack any mosquito coils. Room was fully equipped with all amenities and a safety box. Comes with free breakfast and also a cocktail and snack (4-6pm). A little pricey but it’s on Long Beach and with free beach towels and sheltered huts or so on the beach.
We stay at Mama’s for 5 nights with our family and couldn’t recommend it higher. The cabins are simple but comfortable and it is a lovely location. We looked out over the water to the other island in hammocks. It is a 5 min walk to the best beach on the whole of the Perhentians- we saw sea turtles grazing on sea grass everyday. Mama’s restaurant is also the best priced restaurant in the area with the yummiest food.
It was a perfect little beach chalet. Our door opened right out onto the beach so we had a great view. The staff were friendly and the food in the restaurant was tasty and with decent portion sizes. There were also other restaurants and some beach bars just a short walk along the beach. The chalet itself was basic but clean with a comfy bed. If you're looking for a simple and relaxed place to stay on Perhentian then this is the place to go.
Perhentian Chomel Chalet is a nice place to stay if you want to be away from the crowds. It’s the only hotel located at Rainforest beach. I stayed in a dorm. The beds were definitely not new but still pretty comfortable. It’s a short walk from the main tourist areas on the island. The ferry will drop you off and pick you up right at the beach, so no need to worry about having to walk there with your luggage.
Very athentic holiday chalets. Great position right on the beach. Certainly not a modern hotel but very clean & comfortable. Cafecwas good.
Great location, close to Coral bay pier. Amazing beach, one of nicest on the island. Lovely wooden cabins, good size and great views.
