Super nice host family who takes care of everything. The owner speaks perfect English and really tries to make everything possible in terms of wishes. The food is always freshly prepared by the host mother, so it sometimes takes a little longer, but tasted so good. The garden is well maintained with many different plants. Everything is kept clean and I was offered several times that they clean my room. Sometimes there are shorter power outages, but this is due to the island. Otherwise, the w-lan connection is also very good. I will definitely come again when I go to Ometepe. If you are coming from Liberia (Costa Rica), take the 8 a.m. Bus to the border. Then you can make the ferry at 1:30 p.m. and catch the chicken bus at 2:40 p.m. that goes to Merida to your lodging. It is the only chicken bus at this time. If you miss it you will have to take a private car.

With lake views, Finca Mystica is situated in Ometepe and has a restaurant, a shared lounge, bar, garden, year-round outdoor pool and terrace. Both WiFi and private parking are accessible at the lodge free of charge. One of the most magical places I’ve been to. The road to there is bumby, meaning that it’s literally in the middle of nowhere/nature. I personally loved that. We drove there by pick up and already the way up there felt like an adventure itself. Once arrived, we saw the magical lights everywhere. The owners really wanna make it a special place, welcome you warmly, have the best food I’ve had in Nicaragua. Whatever you order, it’s amazing. The rooms were super comfortable, big, beautifully decorated and I slept like a baby. The whole area is family-/kid-friendly, nice to calm down, relax and enjoy the beauty of nature. Absolutely perfect.

With garden views, Eco lodge finca magdalena is set in Altagracia and has a restaurant, a shared kitchen, bar, garden and terrace. Both WiFi and private parking are available at the lodge free of charge. The views, sounds of the jungle and the coffee were all amazing! And as an added bonus, you could wash your own laundry by hand.

Maderas Beach is 1.8 km from the lodge, while Christ of the Mercy Nicaragua is 8.8 km from the property. Augusto Cesar Sandino International Airport is 130 km away, and the property offers a paid airport shuttle service. Amazing place in the middle of the jungle. It has been a pleasure to meet Tim and his staff. We will come back for sure!

At the hotel, all rooms are fitted with a wardrobe and a balcony with pool view. All guest rooms at Monoloko Lodge Popoyo come with a private bathroom and bed linen. We had a super stay at Monoloko - we rented 3 of the 4 cabanas and were well looked after. The cabanas are mega cute & well decorated, the pool is a great touch, and you are walking distance from the beach. What's not to like.

There is a private bathroom with shower and free toiletries in each unit, along with a hairdryer. It felt peaceful and private, yet also safe! We loved the butterflies in front of our cabin and we liked all the greenery. The kitchen was perfect and I loved having two lounge areas (eating and sitting). Staff was very friendly!

Augusto Cesar Sandino International Airport is 98 km away, and the property offers a paid airport shuttle service. This was one of my favorite stays in Nicaragua. The location was so peaceful and quiet for sleeping but there are also several places nearby to grab a drink. The owner Gianny was so so kind and him or his lovely staff/family were there if you needed anything. The kitchen had everything you could need for cooking and was spotlessly clean. I loved that the fruit/veg truck drove by here selling things every other day. I really enjoyed the free coffee every morning and loved the atmosphere of this place, great for solo travelers and meeting other people. Beautiful garden with hammocks and it was right on the beach. Compared to other places in the area with a private room with en-suite this was really the best value for your money

Parque Nacional Santa Rosa is 49 km from the accommodation, while Junquillal Bay Wildlife Refuge is 46 km away. Great place to rest and enjoy cool refreshing air. Friendly staff who made some wonderful meals. Only a short walk to the beach.
