I can't really say enough positive things about Amanda and Les, and their beautiful property. They were exceptionally welcoming, and cooked us a delicious meal (South African-style braai), for dinner - which had been arranged beforehand. They (and another guest) joined us for dinner, and we all shared stories and laughter.
The property is a bit of an oasis of peace, with glow worms to view at night, for those who wish to seek them out (they're fairly close to the main buildings - try the Night Sight setting on your camera).
The bed was extremely comfortable, and we enjoyed the best sleep of our journey.
All in all, a great experience...and a great overall value.

Great location with a view to Mt. Taranaki (if you are lucky that it pops out of the clouds :)). Nice breakfast, the owenr is super friendly and has such a cute dog Rusty. Spa bath was a welcome addition to the room.

We loved it here. Very modern, clean and comfortable. Wonderful location within walking distance into the town and to the park and the sea. Ensuite was very nice and the shower was great. Quiet at night. Laundry facilities were excellent. The lady running the place was lovely and very helpful.

The owner (Linda) was very helpful in getting back an iPad which was forgotten in the previous hotel.
Auto Lodge New Plymouth offers a restaurant, bar, heated pool and hot tub, just 5 minutes’ walk from Fitzroy Beach.

Well equipped kitchen, with pots, dishes for 2, wine glasses, cooking utensils - big savings on restaurants! BBQ area, laundry.
Suites are beautifully laid out, very spacious, with lots of smart design for road-weary travellers.

What an outstanding place to stay a few nights. Spacious, modern, with a beautiful modern touch. The pictures sure don’t lie. Stunningly no sunsets and if you are standing on that front porch with your coffee you almost have that feeling you are in the hobbit’s Shire.
Very short drive to New Plymouth and Taranaki Maunga.
