The experience itself is really cool, but you need to put on a lot of clothes because it is going to be cold. You will never forget the water bottle.

The room was comfortable and clean and they went out of the way to make sure we were warm and cozy…heater in the room, hot water for tea, hot water bottles to warm the beds, and tons of blankets. They transported us wherever we needed to go and made arrangements for our tour to Taquile. The food was yummy and the bed was comfortable. We even had a shower with hot water! I would highly recommend them for a stay on Uros!

There is so many places that don’t belong to real Uros anymore. Walter and his family are amazing hosts. He build the island with his dad. For us he took care of everything. Special food requests, pick up from the train station and also transfer to the airport. His transfer services have a really fair price. The boat pick up, and a tour on a traditional boat are included. The communication with Walter works really good. Ge also speaks some English. We had really hot water and were able to use the heater inside the room whenever we wanted. Everything is very clean and neat. With Walter and his family you will have one of the greatest experiences at the Uros community!

Staying at Amalia Titicaca Lodge with Juan and his wonderful family was one of the highlights of our entire trip to Peru. This is not just a place to stay—it’s a truly unforgettable experience that you simply should not miss. From the moment we arrived, we were welcomed with such warmth and kindness. Juan and his family took care of us as if we were their own. When we struggled with the altitude on our first day, they immediately made us feel comfortable, preparing special teas and even giving us hot water bottles for the night. The altitude sickness disappeared overnight, thanks to their care! Juan took us out on a fantastic boat tour of Lake Titicaca, sharing his knowledge and the beauty of the lake with us. In the evening, he cooked us an incredible supper—fresh and delicious. Breakfast the next morning was the same. Everything about our stay was authentic, peaceful, and filled with small, thoughtful touches. But what truly sets this place apart is Juan’s generosity and dedication. Halfway to Cusco, I realized I had left my laptop behind at the lodge—a total panic moment! Juan went above and beyond to make sure I got it back before leaving Cusco, personally organizing for it to be delivered by bus so I wouldn’t have to pay $200 for a private shuttle. I am eternally grateful for his kindness and effort! Situated in Puno, Titicaca Aruntawi Lodge Peru offers accommodation with views of the lake, and breakfast included every day. The property is 7 km from the city centre, and right in front of Titicaca lake. The Lodge was located very nicely and the view, especially for sunset, was incredible. Eddy and his family are super nice people, we booked all-inclusive and had the 2h Uros-Boat-Tour on the day of our departure, which was very interesting. In addition, they did a great job with the gluten-free meals (as my girlfriend is coeliac).

To start, the floating islands are unique and something that you need to experience. Felix showed us a level of kindness and hospitality you don’t often see in the world anymore and we were left with full hearts and a new appreciation for the way people on the Uros islands look out for each other as a community. As for the rooms, they were beautiful and we spent hours lying in the sun lounge relaxing, reading our books and watching the boats pass by. This was one of those experiences you remember forever and I’m so glad we booked here.
