For us it had all the comfort needed, including some nice special "treats" that not all places have like a toaster, the book "Uma Aventura - Na Serra da Estrela" (a Portuguese classic for teenagers) and an instant camera. This little old mill is located outside the main part of Manteigas, but it is possible to walk to the centre to have dinner. We booked on very short notice, which put some pressure on the landlord. But he was friendly and made sure we have no problems getting in.

Every morning, Ariana prepared delicious and hearty breakfasts that kept us full until evening. The warmth and kindness of the hostess truly touched our hearts. Ariana made us feel so welcome, and we are happy to say that we’ve made a new friend in Serra de Estrela. We cannot wait to return to this magical place and experience its charm all over again.
