The homestay is located in a small village, so there are other buildings nearby, but the "backyard" part offers lovely view of surrounding rice fields, you can sit in a nice gazebo there (where they'll even serve you dinner, if you choose so), and you can enjoy the calm nature vibes... If you dislike frog and cicada sounds though, you might be disappointed, as there's plenty of both in the fields. :-) The acommodation and the location gave us much more authentic vibes than many of Phong Nha acommodation options which seemed rather "touristy" - we loved that it was truly a homestay (as we saw some acommodations during our Vietnam trip calling themselves homestay but being a basically a normal hotel-style airbnb) and it added to our Vietnam experience significantly. We 100% recommend. :-)
