Their kindness and attentiveness made us feel right at home. 🐾 The Dogs! – We absolutely fell in love with Layla—what a beautiful soul! We already miss her so much. Peanut, Raisin, and the little Jack Russell (whose name escapes me) were also such wonderful companions. It was a joy having them around. 🏡 The Chalet – Simply amazing! It was beyond what we had imagined—spacious, comfortable, and beautifully designed. 🌿 The Lodge & Surroundings – The entire place is breathtaking. The natural beauty of Oribi Gorge combined with the peaceful atmosphere of the lodge made for the perfect getaway. Thank you for such an unforgettable experience! We will definitely be back.

This was my third stay at Duiker Lodge, and once again, I felt completely at home. The lodge is small, personal, and full of charm – a hidden gem just about 25 minutes from Hluhluwe National Park. The rooms are beautifully decorated, combining modern comfort with African flair. Everything is clean, stylish, and thoughtfully designed. The food prepared by chef Happiness is very delicious. As a vegetarian, I really appreciated how well my dietary preferences were taken care of. Every dish was fresh, flavorful, and made with love. I also enjoyed again the offered game drives in the lodge’s private reserve. They’re never rushed, and the guides take time to share their knowledge for the wildlife. Between activities, I enjoyed relaxing by the pool and soaking in the peaceful atmosphere, watching wildlife that came by such as warthogs and Nyalas. The whole place has a warm vibe – it’s hard to leave. I’m already looking forward to my next visit!

AfriCamps at Gowan Valley ligger i Balgowan, 19 km fra Midmar-dæmningen. Her er adgang til et boblebad. Everything that you need for a perfect weekend getaway. The tent is more spacious than expected, with a well equipped kitchen and two sizeable rooms. The unit was immaculately clean, with fresh linens, towels and extra blankets provided. The wood fired hot tub was a fun experience! Located on the lovely Gowan Valley Guest Farm, a gorgeous property where you can enjoy spectacular river views and forest greenery (the short Forest Walk through the property should not be missed!).
