I had a fantastic two night stay here recently to visit the Iguazu falls and catch up with friends. It’s an awesome property near the river and a quick and easy 10 minute walk to the bus terminal and middle of town, very clean and modern, lovely bathroom with hot shower. It was also quiet at night which was a bonus. Breakfast was great too with eggs, fruit, pastries, coffee and juice as well as toast and some other bits. Lara on the front desk was so friendly and helpful as well. A great stay in Iguazu!

The breakfast was nice! They had wifi and it was good :) I wasn’t feeling well because of the long walk in cascada. But the staff was nice and asking me if I need medicine or doctor. They let me stay a few hours longer from the checkout. They did everything they can to make me feel comfortable :)

FAQs about hotels in Puerto Iguazú

Picturesque Town on Iguazú Falls' Doorstep

Located 18 km from the Iguazú Falls UNESCO World Heritage Site, Puerto Iguazú is an Argentinean town situated near the Brazilian border, in the Province of Misiones. Its compact city centre is packed with restaurants, cafés and shops, while the area is well-known for its red soil and lush vegetation.

The stunning falls comprise 275 individual falls spread over 3 km between Argentina and Brazil. They have a maximum height of 80 metres and a water flow that can be three times superior to that of the Niagara Falls.

The Guaraní natives named the falls ‘iguazú’, meaning ‘big water’. The national park was founded in 1907, and some of the best hotels in Puerto Iguazú are located in the road linking the city centre to the falls. Some hotels on the Argentinean side of the waterfalls offer beautiful views.

The local bus station offers links to several long-distance destinations, including Rio de Janeiro and Buenos Aires. The city is served by Cataratas del Iguazú International Airport, while the Brazilian Foz do Iguaçu International Airport is 16 km away.

Whether you need a backpacker hostel, a hotel near the airport, or a 5-star resort, don’t miss the Puerto Iguazú deals available on Booking.com!

Smaller town about 30 minutes from the Argentinian side of the falls. There are a few great restaurants scattered among some pretty rough buildings. Not a whole lot to do there other than eat and drink (and duty free shop and gamble at the casino).

It was a short trip to see the Iguazu Falls and had one day only to see the falls from both the Brazilian and Argentinian sides which were both incredible. We hired a taxi for the day for 4 of us which made travelling across the border effortless and make the best use of our time for a cost of $100.

We had 4 full days.

We had 4 full days. - Day 1 was raining so we went to the shopping mall on the Brazilian side - Day 2 + 3 were at the waterfalls on the Argentine side. - Day 4 we went to the waterfalls on the Brazilian side. We used a taxi driver to get around and we did not go into the city at all.

Very disappointing stay — standards have dropped...

Very disappointing stay — standards have dropped dramatically From the moment we arrived, the experience was chaotic. My daughter arrived at 1 am, and when staff took her to her room, it was already occupied by another guest. Later, while waiting for a taxi, staff mistakenly sent the taxi away. At 9 am, I requested clean towels — when I returned four hours later from an excursion, the towels still hadn’t been delivered. When I raised these issues, the manager seemed more focused on mentioning his qualifications (“licenciado”) and praising his staff than acknowledging that further training was clearly needed. To be fair, the staff were generally polite, but the management and organisation were disappointing. We first stayed here five years ago, and it was a wonderful experience. Sadly, in 2025, it’s a completely different story. Poor management, lack of accountability, and disorganised service. I would not return and cannot recommend this hotel anymore.

We were at Puerto Iguazu for two nights to visit the falls and could easily have spent a second day in the park on the Argentinian side if we had had more time. There isn't a great deal to do in Puerto Iguazu itself but we liked the town and thought the restaurants and cafes were good.

The Falls are spectacular!

The Falls are spectacular! Went first thing in the morning and hiked all the trails. Started with the lower trail, which was basically empty, and with the sun behind us, our views were absolutely incredible. Then did upper trail and finally did the devils throat, which by mid afternoon was crowded, but not bad. A must visit if going to Argentina.

This hotel is nestled in the jungle surrounding Iguazu Falls, offering an intimate connection with nature. It's incredibly relaxing to fall asleep to the soothing sounds of the forest, and we especially enjoyed listening to the jungle at night while soaking in the outdoor whirlpool. The room was spacious and spotless, with great amenities. The air conditioning and internet both worked flawlessly. We also had dinner at the hotel’s restaurant, which turned out to be quite enjoyable. Would we stay here again? Definitely!

The hotel has a fantastic location in the National Park - but my recommendation would be to stay at the Belmond hotel opposite on the Brazilian side of the Falls. Sadly the hotels location is its best feature / only. It’s an ugly building, and whilst it’s been decorated to the best of its ability, it is a ‘Pig in a Wig’. The service was ok, nothing special and the food was similar. It served a purpose as there’s nowhere else to eat in the national park.

The host, Mariano, was amazing - gave me information about visiting the falls and recommendations for around the town on Puerto Iguazu as soon as I checked in. The accomodation was clean, good location close to restaurants and the bus station. I could easily have stayed longer!
