The hotel is new, and it shows everywhere from the restaurant and bar downstairs to the hallways leading to the rooms and the rooms and suits everything smells and feels new and crisp. The reception staff were very friendly and helpful with any requests we made, so the level of customer service and hospitality is at par with a hotel of this rating. Also, kudos to the cleaning staff who did an amazing good of turning the room back to its neat original condition every day and the level of detail in doing their job. The location is very central 10 min walk to the commercial district with all the shops and cafes and museums. The suite we stayed at was clean, spacious, with a mini bar and fridge full of complementary goodies. The bathroom had all the amenities you would expect. The breakfast was really good with a good selection of cold spreads, salads, yogourts, breads, and an egg station for your favourite egg style with an extensive bar for drinks including fresh juieces and champagne for those who would like to start the day on a higher note :)

A beautiful, rural area ten minutes by car from Old Town Salzburg. The 180 degree view from the Gasthof Maria Plain hotel terrace, and from the balcony of room #20 which we had, captures sweeping pastoral greenery in the foreground, behind which is the city of Salzburg with the iconic fortress on the berg, back-dropped by the soaring Austrian Alps. Located away from Salzburg and perched on a hilltop, the setting is as majestic as it is romantic! The church and its extraordinary interior, situated just above the hotel in the heart of a verdant park, offer a commanding view of Salzburg and its castle. Gasthof Maria-Plain is as beautiful inside as it is outside! Perfect!

Bergheim is a good alternative to accommodations directly in Salzburg; it has good bus connections and can be reached in about 30 minutes. For families and hiking enthusiasts, the pilgrimage site of Maria Plain is a must-see – daily masses make it a perfect addition to a holiday.

As part of the accommodation, there is a large restaurant downstairs. The food is very tasty!!! The apricot dumplings are divine. There is a church next to it, the bells are not too disturbing. Beautiful view of Salzburg. Peaceful surroundings.

I chose a Gasthof in Bergheim because it's just 4 km from Salzburg. The view of the city is beautiful, and the quiet and beauty of the place are breathtaking. For those traveling to Salzburg by car, it's a wonderful alternative to staying in the city's busy streets.

This is the second time we’ve stayed at this hotel & just love it. Staff are so friendly. The rooms are immaculate & so comfortable really had the best sleep. There’s a great choice for breakfast & evening meal is the hearty food you expect for Austria. Very convenient for the city, bus stop directly outside. Would highly recommend & would definitely stay again.

The view was spectacular. Great rooms. Great breakfast. Walk 15 minutes to tram station and the tram will bring you to main station in less than 15 minutes. By taxi from old town back: <15 minutes and 15€. Great place to stay! Good shower. Good bed. Parking free of charge and enough space around the hotel.
