The room was lovely including the view from the window, the receptionist was so helpful and kind that I had a superb sightseeing experience at Melk and Dürunstein. The breakfast was really good and other guests I met in the dining area were really friendly.

From the minute we arrived we felt so welcome. What a wonderful hotel. Family run and in a great central location in the the stunning town of Melk. incredible Views to the Palace. We hired electric bikes the first day (10€ for half a day) gorgeous 50km cycle up to Spitz and back (lots of places to stop for wine and beer!) Next day went to a family wedding in Wasserkirken by BOAT! we asked SO many question at reception and they were consistently helpful. The food is delicious too, so many homemade delicacies. We cant wait to go back!

The location of this hotel was a bit disappointing. At least a 15 minutes walk along a busy road. The hotel was comfortable but lack a personal touch. Breakfast was good but when we asked for hot food we were told only eggs were available and on our second day realised we could have had a different hot food choice. Found this very strange and staff on our first morning were quite unhelpful. An ok stay!!

Melk is a charming, quiet town where I would return as many times as possible. Melk Abbey is extremely imposing, beautiful and full of history. It is a must visit. The Abbey gardens are also splendid. Walking around the town or on the banks of the Danube is a pleasure. There are plenty of restaurants and cafes. You can also take cruises on the Danube.

A lovely small and quiet town on the Danube left bank. The Abbey visit deserve more than one hour, in order to dedicate time for a stroll in the gardens; a plus if you know German, as part of the explanation are not translated. The town center is small, but we like-it, as we decide to stay over the night in Melk.

Melk is a beautiful town along the Danube river.

Melk is a beautiful town along the Danube river. Its small, quaint, and historic. We spent a day in Melk and a day riding bikes in the Wachau valley. The abbey in Melk is beautiful. Definitely take the tour! We rode bikes to Krems and rode the bus back to Melk. We rented bikes from Wachau Touristik located on Pioneerstrasse 1 down by the river. They were fantastic to work with and had our reservation ready when we got there early in the morning. Melk is easily accessible by OBB train and on the route to Salzburg. You can easily walk to downtown Melk and most of the hotels and pensions right from the train station.

Stift Melk and its gardens deserve a leisurely visit. The town of Melk must be walked through to admire its old, beautifully restored buildings A day worth reserving for a wonderful cruise on the Danube to admire the Wachau valley. We recommend stopping and walking through Dürnstein

I can find nothing negative to say about Melk. We totally enjoyed our stay and all of the attractions that were easily accessible. We eat at local restaurants and the food was excellent. The train station was within walking distance. The river cruise to Krems was amazing. I would do it all again.

The location is perfect with walking distance to Melk Abbey, Convenient for us to attend Christmas pray at 12 pm on 24th December which was absolutely fantastic. The apartment is close to the market and the breakfast at the super cozy Cafe Teufner is highly recommended. The staff is very kind and helpful. We had Christmas sauna too. The apartment is also within short driving distance to Wachau wine yard and Vienna. We will come here again during the harvest season for sure!

Wonderful small hotel under the imposing gaze of Stift Melk. Sitting in the heart of Melk, Madar Café has comfortable rooms, ours faced the Abbey, not a big room but this is expected from an old building like this. We slept well on a very comfortable bed, it was quiet as well. Breakfast in the restaurant was nice, cold selections with plenty of options. I can recommend this to anyone.

We had a fantastic 3-night stay at the Hotel zur Post. The hotel is very well located in the very center of Melk. The staff is extremely helpful and very kids friendly. The restaurant is great : we had dinner there three nights in a row ! The free parking right behind the hotel is also very convenient.

The hotel sits next to Melk's monastery in the plain centre of the small town. The private and free car parking was for us the criteria for our booking. Service is good and open-minded. The booking.com website made me reserve the wrong type of room, and it was easily corrected on the spot!
