The staff were so welcoming & helpful. My wife & myself arrived late on the day of our arrival. Starving we asked where could get something to eat. Brett offered us room service pizzas even though the kitchen was closed the pizza oven was still on for a function.They even did GF much to my wife's delight.

This is the only place I stay at in Ballarat. The rooms are clean, it's in a great location, it's cheap as chips, it's a no-fuss set-up to check yourself in and out. Love it. Actually moving here for work for the next 3 years but will be recommending this place to anyone visiting. They've even got much better pillows from the last time I stayed here which was literally my only complaint.

If you like classic old buildings as we do, you will love Ballarat! So much history and so many breathtakingly beautiful buildings. We just could not tire of walking around the town. Not just the town centre, but also the residential areas. I have never seen so many beautiful period homes anywhere else. There are also many lovely places to eat, including the beautiful, historic hotels in the town centre, as well as little, low-key cafes in the 'burbs. PS: There is also an excellent bus service!

I like the downtown area and the smiles of the people — they were very friendly. I also enjoyed the preparations for the Christmas celebrations, with lights and colors everywhere. I visited Sovereign Hill as well, and I had a great time.

Ballarat is fascinating and represents the gold rush of the era (1860's) with maintained beautiful and historical buildings. Very quiet and some great little bars and pubs. Good place to also explore the areas outside of Ballarat.

It is a great central place to stay.

It is a great central place to stay. The apartment was clean and comfortable. Covered parking . Accross the road from sovereign hill. Would highly recommend especially for families. We had a great dinner at the pub up the road. Close to shopping center and service station.

Ballarat is one of my favourite places.

Ballarat is one of my favourite places. There is so much history here and many things to do and see. I was just passing through this time but managed to take photos of the stunning street flower gardens. The Council do an amazing job making everything look beautiful. I can't include the photos at the moment as my camera is in the car and I need to download them to use. It is too late for that just now, I need to fall into bed.

Ballarat is a lovely town with such history and wonderful architecture, the buildings are great. Over two and a half days we enjoyed our George Hotel accommodation, in Lydiard St, close to the Theatres, Cafes and Restaurants. It was in close proximity to the Wildlife Park, Tram Museum and ride, Lake Wendouree and the Botanical Gardens. We enjoyed a trip to the Creswick Woollen Museum. There are many other places to visit.

We visited Ballarat to visit Sovereign Hill. It is a 500m walk from the apartments which meant no driving and parking at the site. We just walked. There are 2 hotels within walking distance for meals either turn left or right at the main road! The property had a relaxing space downstairs with a kitchen area. Upstairs were two bedrooms and the bathroom, convenient although small. The property was excellent value for a family of 4.

Spacious, clean rooms. Nothing fancy, but a handy location. Plenty of car parking. Grateful to get a room on the ground floor (rather than having to carry luggage upstairs). Lovely couple/family running the hotel. Not the cheapest option, but the rooms are large, there is off street parking, airconditioning and very close to the lake and a supermarket.

The friendly staff , food gluten free fructose intolerance. The staff and chef when out of there way to make everything perfect and delicious. The history of the Craig Royal and old world charm of the decor is beautiful. I just want to return again and again . it is my favourite hotel in Ballarat.

We always stay here when in Ballarat. We have family there so we have stayed in many of the hotel in the area. The Menzies is always consistently clean, a fair price and check in and check out are easy.
