FAQs about hotels in Brisbane

Sun-Drenched and Leafy

At the meeting point of Australia’s Sunshine Coast and Gold Coast, laidback Brisbane is spread around the meandering river running through it. The river’s arty South Bank is home to Australia’s largest modern art gallery, tranquil gardens and an artificial beach. Just opposite is the towering skyline of Brisbane's CBD, where many hotels in Brisbane city centre are located.

Nearby are the botanic gardens and Queen Street Mall, the most popular Brisbane shopping spot. More shopping centres are found all over the city, and the out-of-town malls include one in the Indooroopilly suburb by the foothills of Mount Coot-tha.

This green hill offers fabulous city views and has a planetarium, nature reserve and yet more botanic gardens. In Lone Pine Koala Sanctuary to the south you can hug one of the loveable animals, while Australia Zoo – Steve Irwin’s legacy – is a good day trip.

Brisbane is a very leafy city and one of its parks – Wickham Park – contains the Old Windmill, Brisbane’s oldest building. To the north-east, the Fortitude Valley suburb is known for its vibrant music scene and Chinatown. Across the river in Woolloongabba is The Gabba or Brisbane Cricket Ground, and nearby is the bohemian West End district.

As well as central accommodation, Booking.com also offers hotels near Brisbane Airport in a north-eastern coastal suburb.

Staff were very pleasant and accommodating.

Staff were very pleasant and accommodating. I have kidney stones and over a couple of days I felt unwell. I booked for two days, but I wasn’t able to make it as I had a trip to hospital, so I only had one day ( unfortunately). I slept in and reception allowed me an hour to have a shower etc. I wanted a second night but they were booked out. Lastly, I appreciated the help I received. Many thanks to Rydges staff and I will most certainly book again in the future. Ps loved Southbank location.

I used to live in Brisbane and loved it then.

I used to live in Brisbane and loved it then. Thirty years later, it is an even better place to live and visit. Loved the close proximity to the City Cat jetty, amazing public transport system with 50c capped fare per trip, great range of cafes and restaurants (many with a good knowledge of gluten free requirements and menu options), friendliness and willingness to help). Found a fab bagel shop called Freya just up the road from our hotel serving great coffee and THE BEST bagels

We came for a family celebration, and the staff were very welcoming and very helpful. We had dinner at the Suzette Restaurant at the Sofitel with a Shared Menu and the staff were exceptionally attentive and helpful especially as we had a young child. (he enjoyed his requested meal) Everyone enjoyed our family celebration.

Great location - within walking distance to supermarkets, CBD and beautiful walks along the river, over the bridge to Southbank. The apartment had much space - offering 5 beds - great for couples and even better for larger bookings! Super clean, with everything you need for a comfortable stay! The pool and spa on level 7 offer an amazing view! We will definitely book this accomdation for our next Brisbane stay!
