if you are travelling the great ocean road and you are looking for an extraordinary boutique hotel experience, drift house is the way to go. the rooms are large and designed with attention to detail, forming part of what feels like a little design campus in port fairy. the dinner we had at the hotel was outstanding, as was breakfast. we received the friendliest and most personal treatment from maddie, and it almost felt like leaving a friend after only two days.

The home was just perfect. Gorgeous location, looking out on farmland with highland cattle in the next field. The cottage was beautifully decorated, cosy and clean. The bathroom had a jacuzzi bath with plenty of bath salts etc which was a really nice touch. The fire was on when we got in which we loved! Outside the cottage was adorable too with a swing and a giant chess board. Self- check in was seamless. A detailed folder inside answered any possible query. Amenities were just a 5 minute drive away. We loved the walk out to Port Fairy lighthouse. Overall this cottage was one our favorite spots on our 3 month trip. You must stay here if you're in Port Fairy.

We enjoyed shopping and dining in the arra around Sackville Street. We met so many nice and helpful shop owners as well as patrons. Enjoyed the Mill for coffee, the Bottega Toscana for dinner and Pelicans Port for ice cream! Such a pleasant town with a perfect life/work balance.

Port Fairy is a beautiful town with lots to see and do.

Port Fairy is a beautiful town with lots to see and do. The beaches are pristine, and unspoiled. We weren't there at peak time, so not sure how busy it gets over summer, but it was lovely to visit. So clean and well maintained everywhere we went - absolutely beautiful. A walk around Griffiths Island to see the lighthouse is well worth it, and takes about an hour of leisurely walking. Went to the market on Saturday morning and bought some nice local produce and ate at The Victoria Hotel. A short drive to Eumeralla Coastal Reserve was also lovely. Can't wait to come back.

Stayed for the weekend, it was a perfect getaway. Fantastic beaches, lots of nice wee shops there. Locals were friendly, especially at the information centre. There was a cute little farmers market on the Saturday.

Port Fairy is a stunning place to visit.

Port Fairy is a stunning place to visit. I love it during winter, and if you can fluke some clear winter weather with a light north wind you will see it at its pristine best. Summer time and school holidays can of course be very busy - so be prepared for that.

The à-la-carte breakfast truly lived up to its reputation. Everything was beautifully prepared, fresh, and so delicious that we found ourselves eating more than we normally would in the mornings! Our dinner on Saturday night was exceptional with a Spanish-inspired menu that was seasonal, beautifully prepared and presented, and delicious. The location is also perfect, close to everything we needed, which made exploring Port Fairy so easy and enjoyable.

Even though the weather was somewhat grey and rainy the apartment added to the atmosphere as we felt warm and snug and had the best view over the ocean. Beautiful gardens and beachfront to overlook and perfect spot from which to walk along the river as well and into Port Fairy....couldnt fault it!
