The cafateria at the park was great,food delicious and affordable, Sunday night music and happy hour very unexpected and entertaining. The pool was super, safe for children, clean and inviting. The beach was very close and the stinger net provided a safe surfing area. The boardwalk at the end of South Mission is amazing and a must do.

We liked that it was a laid-back, relaxing location and is not over-developed. It’s very easy to get around - we had a car, so could drive or walk. The only thing (very minor) that would have been nice is a store that sells books (new or secondhand). I forgot to bring one and didn’t want to use technology as I was wanting to ‘switch off’. Apart from that we loved the area and will definitely be back.

Mission beach is awesome, a great close getaway for the weekend. A nice beach as not packed with heaps of tourists. you can actually enjoy your area and relax. It's good for all ages, families and singles. and also, not officially clothing optional, certainly a beach where you can wear thong swimwear and even go topless for the ladies. overall, just a perfect beach for everyone to visits.

Visitors need their own transport to make the most out of the area. There are no facilities within walking distance. There are no restaurants, cafes or shops at this area of Mission Beach so you either wine and dine at the accommodation or drive to North Mission. There are only two taxis that service the whole area so probably not so reliable. We visited Tully and drove to the shops and North Mission Beach. There's also a park where you can see Cassowaries.

My review is about the Mission Beach/Tully area in general,...

My review is about the Mission Beach/Tully area in general, not specifically South Mission.. Great area for walking, relaxing, swimming at beach (Garner's for me) and freshwater at Alligator's nest near Tully (about 30 mins drive) plus Dining if you wish as plenty of choice.. I chose to cook myself mainly but had some great Thai food from Wongaling and good coffee at Mission Beach.. For the more adventurous there is plenty on offer from kayaking and white water rafting through the Tully river and gorge, paragliding, diving & snorkelling ,fishing, boating, etc..

South Mission Beach has what you need for a trip away from home. Short drive to Woolies, BWS bottle shop. Mission Beach 10 mins away has a Tavern, cafes, general store which has cash out if you buy. Markets monthly right on the beach, a must do when in the area.

Owners are lovely - they live next door and met us when we arrived with a friendly welcome. They told us what we needed to know and then left us alone to enjoy our time. The place itself is really nice. It is clean and is a good amount of living space for a couple. Very comfortable bed and pillows and well appointed kitchen with most of what you need. Also washing machine and barbeque available which is nice. Wonderful views from where the house is and very close to south mission beach. The woolworths is only a 5minute drive away.

Where do l start!!! WOW!!! Ha and Glen are by far the most amazing caretakers of a Hotel, they are both so accomadating, kind and helpful, they make the stay so much more enjoyable. The Anchor In is so lovely to stay in, location is spectacular 😍 everything you need is provided, l especially loved the older decor!!! It suits the climate. Access to the pool and outdoor areas is right at your doorstep, including the beach.

The property is one of five on a block surrounding a pool. It's quite well set up for privacy between the units. Facilities were fine and overall, it was a decent stay. South Mission Beach is a 10-minute drive (past Wongaling Beach) to Mission Beach proper. There's a supermarket complex about halfway between.
