We stayed at Beechworth House on our road trip from Queensland down to Victoria, and it was the perfect peaceful stopover. The grounds are beautifully maintained, creating a serene and relaxing atmosphere right from the moment you arrive. The suite was luxurious, with an incredibly comfortable bed, spotless (immaculate) cleanliness, and every amenity you could need in the room to make the stay feel truly welcoming and thoughtful. One of the highlights was the lovely walks you can take straight from the accommodation, and it's just a 5-minute drive into the charming town of Beechworth. The owners were welcoming and made us feel right at home. This place is easily in our top 3 accommodations, and we will definitely be returning to Beechworth House for a longer stay next time. An exceptional find – highly recommend!

Stanley is a historical village that is surrounded by chestnut and apple orchards, forest and woodland. The iconic Stanley Pub provides a central point. The food and wine is fabulous. Now with cafe that opens at 8.30am. Trying to find the Magic Forrest is a must do in Stanley or walk the 20km loop.

Very good location in relation to Beechworth, Myrtleford and...

Very good location in relation to Beechworth, Myrtleford and a little further on to the vineyards of Milawa. We travelled on to Rutherglen via Chiltern with a short 40 min drive which was much better that a 3 hour drive from Melbourne in summer. Stanley is at a higher altitude making it a lovely cool place to visit in summer, however if you are looking for shopping slip into Beechworth and then return to to the peace and quiet of Stanley.
