We simply loved our stay here. To be honest, we would love to book another trip in this direction just to stay here again. Don’t think twice before booking—it won’t disappoint. The place is stunning and designed with meticulous attention to detail. The mattresses were perfect, and the rooms are spacious and equipped with everything you need. A demolished building at the entrance made us wonder if we were in the right place, but as soon as we were through the gates, we could see that we were somewhere exceptional. The building is elegant, the grounds superb, and the public spaces roomy with welcoming decor. It's more of a big B&B rather than a small hotel, but a very good one. I suspect that we had the smallest of the rooms, but we were comfortable enough for our 4 nights. Ter Wallen is an easy walk from the Markt square and the station, so it's a good spot for exploring this part of Belgium, and close enough to some of the historic battlefields for a day trip. Izigem itself is a nice small town, with plenty of spots to enjoy a beer or two. Ter Wallen's breakfast is on the expensive side; we only had breakfast on one morning but it was very good.

Breakfast was a buffet in a room overlooking the large terrace, which would be accessible in warm weather for meals or drinks, and for general relaxation. The choice of breakfast food was wide, with all the necessary components plus proper frehly made coffee, a wide variety of cereals, and fresh warm pastries. Our room was spacious, clean and modern in design and furnishing, whereas the building is old, being a converted Farm House. Everything was tastefully presented, with all our requirements catered for, including a brilliant shower and bath. The Hotel was quiet and clearly built to the design of the owner, who is a particular man, keen to please, and very communicative. Nothing was too much trouble. We had a problem with a car tyre, which the staff quickly solved by directing us to a local firm who fixed it FREE OF CHARGE!
