The owner was very nice and helpful. She gave us good travel tips. Good breakfast. Bus stop to Gent in front of the hotel. Online check-in was quick and easy, the key was prepared at front desk. Parking is placed in the backyard.

The staff was extremely welcoming and helpful from check-in to check-out. They held our bag while we explored the city and provided several maps and recommendations. There is a bar within the hotel open until 11pm, however, we did not utilize it, but it is a plus! The room was spotless; they even provided slippers and a water bottle.

Gare 55 is a converted railway station. The conversion is exceptional, with fine attention to detail and highest quality fittings used throughout. We were impressed and commented to each other about a number of the smart design choices. Although the room is quite small (due to constraints of fitting into the existing station building), the space has been used in the most efficient way possible. Clearly the main market is for single business travellers looking for a self-contained flat for stays of a week or longer, but it works very well for a couple. Bed was very comfortable and room lacked nothing. There is a large shared kitchen area with indoor and outdoor seating. This provided a nice place to sit in the evening as well as the possibility of preparing one's own meals. The hosts were warm and welcoming. Location is great for day trips to Gent (10 Km from the nearest P+R with tram access to city centre).

I know nothing about Lochristi; it was just my stopover/hotel for the day, 2/8/25, coming from Liège to the Lokerse Feesten. Alain (probably one of the few people from Liège who's known about the Lokerse Feesten for a few years now, and also the friendliness of the people, always kind despite my "broken Dutch"! DANK U!!)

A wide selection of shops, restaurants, and bistros...

A wide selection of shops, restaurants, and bistros... The countryside is beautiful. I ate at an Italian restaurant. The roads are good, and I didn't use public transport, but I saw plenty of buses to Ghent. Lots of shopping, lots of walking, close to Ghent and Lokeren, and not far from the North Sea.

A surprisingly long main street with plenty of shops and a few good restaurants, especially De Reinaert! Delicious food, friendly staff. Because of the business aspect of the trip, we didn't see much else.
