Vidin is located in the far northeast part of Bulgaria and reaching it is a bit of a challenge due to the poor infrastructure but the town offers interesting places to visit as well as good dining options. The Baba Vida fortress is a must see - the most well preserved medieval fortress in the whole of Bulgaria. The Belogradchik Rocks are a phenomenal natural wonder that is worth the drive from Vidin. The city is so beautiful, peaceful, full of young people and many renovated archaeological and historical buildings and landmarks. The city is developing very well and I liked it very much. Vidin is a charming small city.
Vidin is a charming small city. The park, architectural and historical monuments, and the art museum provide interesting sights for 2-3 days. Just sitting in the park along the Danube watching the river traffic is a relaxing time. Nice town with lively promenade/park along the Danube. Fortress "Baba Vida" has a long history, had historically withstood sieges, and served as home base for regional rulers. The rather small city has a lot to offer and same is valid for the areas in vicinity (max 60-80 km). Very nice natural objectives (caves and mountain trails) but also a lot of historical objectives (fortresses, churches, etc). Since we were in an apartment we had very large rooms and comfortable bed. There was one big bathroom and one more small toilet. The breakfast was nice. Enough space in the parking lot to stop your car. The hotel is very close to the river and 10 minutes away by walking from the city centre. The windows are aluminum and have insulation against strong sun. It was quiet and peaceful. Apparently the hotel was pet friendly as there were guests with dogs.Guest review byyousetupBulgaria
