Our recent stay at Zhiwa Ling was nothing short of extraordinary, not just for the serene beauty and comfort the hotel offers, but more so for the unparalleled compassion and support shown by the staff during a very unexpected and difficult time for our family. Upon arriving in Bhutan, we were captivated by the charm of Paro town and the hotel room and grounds. However, my mother suddenly fell ill, and the response from the Zhiwa Ling team was was nothing short of exceptional and deeply moving. From the moment we sought help, the staff treated us not as guests, but as their own family. They coordinated immediate medical support, ensured our comfort at every step, and went out of their way to check on her throughout each day and night we were there. Their empathy, warmth, and sense of responsibility were truly remarkable. In a foreign country, far from home, it's rare to find such genuine human connection. The entire experience reminded us that hospitality, at its best, is about heart, not just service. To the Zhiwa Ling team—thank you. We will never forget your kindness. You not only made our stay comfortable, you gave us strength when we needed it most. We would like to especially thank Pema who was very kind at reception, Pemba the amazing manager and Sonam our incredible driver. Pemba and Sonam, in particular, stayed with us each step of the way guiding and reassuring us. They became our extended finally. Beautifully decorated with wooden bath looking out to the mountains. Decorative tiles. Wooden balcony. Large comfortable bed. Fabulous views of Taktsang / Tiger’s nest. Excellent location near the start of the trek. Very friendly and helpful staff. Nimdem was attentive throughout, from looking after suitcases when we arrived early to offering to book a taxi when she noticed mine was late. Excellent internet. Warm room even though we were high up in February. Warm fire in the bar

Very beautiful place, felt more like a staying at a Bhutanese home. The host was very gracious, hospitable and polite. Would definitely go there again for delicious traditional dishes, a beautiful view of the Paro valley, excellent home made apple wine and the kind hosts and staff.

We spent an absolutely lovely three days stay at this serene resort. The properly is beautifully located on mountain side where view of the valley is stunning. Properly is sufficiently private and calm. The whole hotel crew went out of length's way to accommodate our needs and food from their kitchen is delicious. The hot stone bath is a must-do experience.

If you want to stay in a quiet, peaceful valley surrounded by rice fields, then I suggest you stay here. The staff are exceptional here. Highly recommend. Bear in mind that the downtown is a bit of a walk from this place.
