The Gite au Perchoir was a real discovery. We booked on line, based on the reviews and photos and weren’t disappointed. We had the upstairs room with a balcony with stunning views across the St Lawrence which we enjoyed on a warm evening and clear morning. The room was very comfortable with great facilities and we enjoyed a very personally prepared breakfast with the other guests each morning. We also had access to a comfortable sitting room downstairs with coffee and tea. To be recommended.

The Refuge is in a lovely peaceful location with beautiful views across the St Lawrence. There’s a deck out front to relax and enjoy the views and listen to the rushing stream nearby. There’s also a fully enclosed BBQ area which is great in the evenings to avoid insect attacks. The kitchen is well stocked with crockery and cutlery plus a decent range of cooking appliances. Jacques was lovely and gave us a very warm welcome and a very thorough run through of all the property’s features.

We were there for 3 nights and given that it was the shoulder season, that was enough time. There are some great restaurants - Buvette Gentille was amazing and Le Moutin Noir was also very good. Orange is a good breakfast/brunch spot. Many beautiful art galleries to peruse. A beautiful small town in one of the most beautiful places in Canada.

There are nice stores including art stores.

There are nice stores including art stores. It has a music festival in summer. It is not far from skiing both nordic and xcountry.It is a short drive to a national park, Des Hautes Gorges de la Riviere Malbaie. Close to Des Hautes Gorges de la Riviere Malbaie, a National Park

Nice and quiet little village.

Nice and quiet little village. The only thing that gets me everytime is that basically all the restaurants are closed as of 9pm so don’t arrive there late if you haven’t eaten. Otherwise amazing cute little town.

Great in a lot of way!!!

Great in a lot of way!!! Like the nearby walks, the art galleries, was near a lot of attractions, everything was either a short walk of a short/moderate drive. The only drawback is the food--the restaurants were extremely expensive and the food there was at best so so. On one evening I ended up with some serious indigestion. There are lots of nearby grocery stores, though, with lots of variety at pretty reasonable cost.

I liked the fact that although l thought: " OMG what a traffic noise I well not sleep a wink" : l closed the room door and l did not hear anything anymore or at least nothing disturbing and l slept like a log. Good shower Comfortable ; not hard not soft matrasse. Close to restaurants. Hardly traffic at night. Very good soundproofed No noise AC.

Gorgeous, cozy, super clean, fully equipped, close from Baie-Saint-Paul's best restaurants and le Massif. Insane view! The swing is a very nice touch. For skiers, the 3 ski lockers and the boot heaters are amazing.
