The grizzly bear tour to Butte Inlet with Homalco Tours was absolutely amazing! The guides were incredibly knowledgeable and we saw many grizzly bears including mum's with their cubs and a huge male feeding on salmon. I can't recommend this tour company enough. Thank you for making our trip so amazing!

We loved the hiking, waterfalls, wildlife and so much more.

We loved the hiking, waterfalls, wildlife and so much more. The Visitor Centre was very helpful. Only complaint is for the Provincial Parks…there needs to be better signage in the trails for safety.

Campbell River Museum was very interesting.

Campbell River Museum was very interesting. A bonus was that it is very close to Fireflies bnb. Elk Falls and the Suspension Bridge there are very worthwhile - lucky for us it didn’t become dark too early (7.45pm) as we didn’t leave much time to explore here. We also visited The Salmon Farm and saw two black bears there - one of which caught and ate at least 5 salmon while we were watching. However, we felt the general presentation of the farm was tired, even allowing for the fact it is a working concern - restrooms needed attention, no brochures in holders, no staff to consult. Not a good look for visitors.

Farmer’s market was a lot of fun and we went to Strathcona state park but elk falls is very close to town. Great food options! Milo’s sushi does spectacular and inclusive breakfasts! Fogg ducker coffee spot was stunning.

Campbell River is a pleasant ocean-side city, with lovely views of mountains and ocean. Interesting things to see, including First Nations art/carvings. A decent variety of restaurants, including ethnic. Opportunities to explore the outdoors, including regional and Provincial parks.

Take Hwy 19A to Campbell River. It's just so beautiful.

Take Hwy 19A to Campbell River. It's just so beautiful. The Painters Lodge was a true hidden gem: 5 Star. Guests could book several different tours directly from the lodge. Loved Elk Falls hike and Rebecca's Spit hike on Quadra Island; great kayaking on Quadra Island too! Did not have enough time to walk all the different hikes in the area! Miracle Beach is a wonderful adventure just waiting to happen!! Fantastic Canada Day celebrations!!!

I needed a place to hangout for two days enroute. This suite was a perfect layover with laundry, kitchen, big TV and a faux-fireplace/heater. Well appointed and thoughtfully finished; a romantic space for a couple. Bathroom is upscale. Friendly hosts. A short walk to the excellent museum and forest trails (daytime use), and the historic pier. The BC Transit stop is within half a block. A 15 min walk into the centre of Campbell River (see photos)

Really friendly, helpful staff! Beautiful ocean views - great place to sit outside with a coffee in the mornings, or watch the sunset. Basic but clean room and private bathroom. An easy 20-minute walk into downtown Campbell River, or there are a lot of public buses that go past quite regularly and make it easy to get to and fro even without a car.

Cute hotel, well loved, needs a bit more love, but great for the money. We had a problem with the toilet, and the staff were on it.
