We came for a weekend to take the 1000 island cruise and...
We came for a weekend to take the 1000 island cruise and visit the Boldt Castle. I was disappointed in the lack of fall colors, but were very impressed with the organization of the cruise and was very impressed with touring Boldt Castle. There was a large of number of restaurants in the area to choose from. Would have enjoyed going to the Royal Theater, but nothing playing while we were there.Guest review byHelen - 10

Gananoque is a great location to visit all of the 1000 islands on the Canadian side. The town had some nice restaurants. The Old English Pub, Purple House and Grayson's at Wood View Inn. took a 5 Hour tour with City Cruises of the 100 Island with a stop at Boldens castle from the docks in town. It was fantastic. The vibe in town is very much geared to tourism. When i planned this trip I knew nothing about Gananoque, but I hit a home run.Guest review byJamesUnited States - 10

Gananoque offers a lively street scene for visitors well into the evening. Lots of pubs and restaurants to dine and hang out in, do people watching and enjoy the view if you're on the water. The room was heated (much appreciated as the weather turned very cold and rainy). There was an HDMI cable that came in handy. The staff were very attentive and helpful.
