We stayed in Baker Creek as a family with 2 kids. Our stay was quite comfortable. The kitchen is relatively well equipped, the coffee is very tasty. The beds are comfortable. All windows and a balcony door have mosquito net. The nature around the hotel is wonderful. You see at least one squirrel whenever you leave the house, they are literally everywhere in the resort. I don't understand the complaints about Wi-Fi. It worked very well in our house during our stay. It was very handy due to the absence of mobile connection. The shop has all the basic supplies and the hot dog was very tasty, according to my son. They have one washer and one dryer for shared use.

Lake Louise is getting very over touristed.

Lake Louise is getting very over touristed. The Chateau is off limits except to guests and durring peak season the rates there are around $2000 per night which puts it out of reach for most people and the resturants are mostly only for guests. Parking at $35 in the summer is silly and the lot fills up early in the morning. The busses also get booked up early forcing some tourists to book "Private Tours" at an exhorbant cost. We live in Calgary and love the area but now only come in the off season or occasionaly camp nearby in the summer as most hotels are north of $500 per night. We can afford to stay anywhere but do look for value.. Parks Canada need to re-evaluate...

Lake Louise attracts thousands of visitors who have to be...

Lake Louise attracts thousands of visitors who have to be managed; it's overshadowed by the mass of the fairmont Chateau hotel. Louise is one of hundreds of vividly coloured, turquoise lakes in the Alberta Rockies. If you want beauty with a little peace and quiet look elsewhere. Emerald lake, half an hour away from Louise, is beautiful ad attracts fewer visitors. Peyto lake, see photo, on the Icefield Parkway is perhaps the most dramatic (hint: don't turn right into the parking but continue straight on to the upper parking and avoid a strenuous climb uphill on foot). Accommodation at Lake Loise is expensive. Consider staying in Banff or Golden and driving into the area. Parks Canada has useful info about shuttle service and parking.

I paid nearly $800 per night expecting a quiet, nature-focused stay, as advertised on the hotel’s website. Instead, I was first given a noisy room, and then moved to another that smelled strongly of bleach and had a broken window. Despite my allergy, no alternative room was offered. The bleach fumes caused severe headaches that required painkillers, and by the second day, ants had entered the room. Overall, the experience was extremely disappointing and far from worth the price.

The Lake access can be difficult due to the massive crowds Lake Louise, such that hundreds of people walk 1-2 miles uphill just to get to the lake, because parking lot is full by 8:00 AM. There is a reason for this - possibly the most beautiful mountain setting on earth, with dozens of iconic hikes within minutes of the area.

As someone who visited Lake Louise in 2007 the experience was different at that time we could drive right up to the hotel and that makes it a difficult for people with disabilities. The lake is still just as beautiful as it was back in 2007 also we felt That it would be a good experience to be able to walk through your fabulous Fairmont hotel, which we were unable to do this time.

The views of Lake Louise from this hotel are unparalleled, but that’s a given. What makes this place special is the extremely friendly and courteous staff, they can’t do enough to make you feel comfortable. Be sure to book to join one of the mixology classes in the bar, really interesting and good fun. The food in all the restaurants we tried was delicious too. The decor was also a good mix of traditional but also contemporary in the bedrooms. Overall highly recommend staying here at least once for the experience.

We were a team of 5 Special Olympic Nordic athletes and coaches going to the Lake Louise Loppet. Location was the most important as we could walk to the event from the lodge. An inclusive breakfast was also helpful. I like the funky weirdness of Deer Lodge with it's well worn history. The staff was extremely friendly. The accommodation is not for people who imperatively need a flat screen TV in their bed chamber. We were more than comfy.

The breakfast was good and with lots of options. Nevertheless, when it was a little busier, they ran out of everything very soon (whether dishes, cups or hot food). It is one of the cheaper options in Lake Louise town. Staying in that town makes travel times to the lakes a lot shorter, but since you need to drive to P&R at the Ski Resort anyway, you might consider sleeping elsewhere (but Banff NP is pricey anyway).

We had a room on the third floor with lovely mountain views. Good location in Lake Louise village with public shuttle bus to the lake Louise. Bus stop across the road. Close to a few eateries and shops. Free parking at hotel. If you plan on visiting Moraine Lake too you need to book ahead the shuttle bus.
