Absolutely lovely B&B in the wooded hills outside North Hatley. Our welcome by Carol and Carl was very warm and friendly, and we loved the large, very comfortable room which had glorious views of the distant lake and hills, and a wonderful King sized bed! Although we ended up not being able to use the facilities, the outside grounds and hot and cool tubs were impressive. Attention to detail was clear everywhere, not least the excellent breakfast where alternatives were happily provided if the main offering didn't suit. North Hatley itself is a pretty, small lakeside town about 7km from the property and has excellent dining opportunities. Overall, we highly recommend this property to visitors to this lovely part of the world.

Everything was very good, beyond expectations. Among other things, we enjoyed very beautiful scenery and perfect tranquility especially early in the morning. The staff there and their service were exceptional.

Beautiful ground floor apartment with large, comfortable beds. Neighbourhood was charming.

The location is good but during our visit there was nothing else to commend this place. The booking.com description is for a 2 bedroom apartment where Bedroom 1 has a double bed, Bedroom 2 has a futon. The Apartment is actually just a single room and a bathroom. There is a kitchen at one end, two fold out beds in the middle and a sofa and TV at the entrance end. I'll concede that the the photos are accurate, once we were there that is how we knew we were in the right place because what we found had nothing to do with what is advertised. We clearly caught the host on a bad day but then the recent reviews suggest he's having too many of those lately. When we booked we suggested a 15:00 check in and this was agreed. Early on the day of our stay I messaged the host via Booking.com and confirmed our 15:00 arrival and he replied with a ":)" On arrival at 15:30 we found the room unlocked and needing to be made up after the previous night's guests. We contacted Fred by phone and he told us it was a busy day for him, he said he busy cooking. He suggested we get a coffee "for a couple of hours". A little later we noted a young man entering the room. When we returned 90mins later he was there again. Eventually he gave us the go ahead to move in at around 17:45. Cleaning was clearly not his usual occupation. A great deal was missed - dog food under the bed, toiletries in the shower and filthy dish cloths in the sink. The sheets had been changed however and we had a reasonably comfortable night but this was not what we were expecting and Fred's lack of preparedness and gruff excuses were disappointing.
