Beautiful hilltop medieval town with so-so castle, great views, ambiance, a great cheese manufacturing tour, some lovely hotels, a Tibetan museum, and a museum of the works of the disturbed anti-human artist HR Giger. If you are into easy-moderate hiking, the Callier chocolate factory, or the nearby towns (Broc or Moreson) Mt., it will be worth more than one day. Great location, easy parking. The room was clean. The room was clearly the worst room in the hotel, facing the parking lot so it was extremely loud, when the cars were leaving. It seemed like the room had 0 sound isolation, we could hear everything. The staff was not very friendly and clearly did not care for us as guests, I needed to ask extra times for information about what to do and see around. The hotel is beautifully decorated and the dining area gives great views out of the panoramic windows. We had breakfast and an evening meal here and both were good. The rooms were very comfortable and plenty big enough for us for 2 days visiting Gruyère.
