Perfect location for hiking in Murren and around and a good start for the Northface trail. Good breakfast, clean and comfortable rooms and an unforgatable view of the all three northfaces of Jungfrau, Monch and Eiger, permanently in sight. The personnel and the owner of the Hotel were very kind and helpfull. The road from Murren to the Hotel takes around half an hour uphill and it is not recommended for troller-bagages (the path is paved with small stones). Best way at arrival is to take the funicular from Murren up to Allmendhubbel and from there to hike down to the hotel about 10 minutes. It is not so tiersome this way. Should you have trollers as luggage I also recommend to contact the property. They could provide transportation. At departure, hiking down to Murren is easy and recommendable (since it is downhill) having always the mountains in sight. We stayed for three nights but two nights is optimal. We hiked Northface trail which we recommend via Wasserfall Sprutz and arriving at Gimmewald were we had the hightlight of the jurney having a cold beer in a hot day on the terrace (upstairs) at Pension Gimmewald.

An absolutely wonderful hotel — not just because of its great location, cleanliness, and stunning views from the windows, but above all because of its highly professional staff. I experienced the fastest check-in of my entire travel career: I simply said my name, and I was handed the room key — no prepayment, no passport number check, no forms to fill out, no credit card details. Most amazing view of snowy mountains, beautiful valley below, listening to and watching avalanches in the distance, the charming town of Mürren complete with a light sprinkling of snow before bed. Friendly, helpful staff. It was the best birthday ever as we were greeted for our dinner reservation with complimentary champagne, confetti, & Happy Birthday napkins. Truly a magical experience!

I was able to check in early and was upgraded to a better room. The room was exceptional. Ski room was great and opened up to the laneway that leads to the lifts, a walk of about 50m. Breakfast was fantastic. Location was in the centre of town opposite the COOP. The walk from the Stechelberg cable car was less than 5 minutes. Cannot fault the staff, they are the best in the business!

    Stunning car free village high in the mountains, which requires a gondola and train to reach. We loved it. Great restaurants with exceptional views. You could walk around at night and just marvel at the majestic sights and fun atmosphere. We had dinner at the Edelweiss on the outside balcony twice. Magical views, staff was fun, welcoming and always smiling. Had the fondue and gelato, both were excellent! We had a great time staying in Murren.

    Murren is best characterized by its access to outdoor activity, hiking, via ferrata and skiing. The town itself is small but pretty. It is best to make a reservation for supper to ensure a spot, particularly during high season. It is easy to get around on foot. However... this quaint picturesque town is situated in the mountains so the weather can be very severe even in summer; so bring appropriate outdoor clothing (rain gear) even for simple activities like walking to the store or restaurant.

    It is touristy, but also feels more like a village and has more charm than Wengen or Lauterbrunnen - those have more services but charm and views seemed inferior. The views are just exceptional, and there are scenic walking trails for different capabilities, some very easy just following a road, and some a bit more demanding going on mountain paths - for instance I walked down one rather steep forest path to Lauterbrunnen. Going up and down in cable cars is a small adventure in itself, and there is direct connection to Schilthorn cable which I think is the best and most reasonable option for going up even closer to the high mountains for top notch views. The summer comes late to this area, so in early May lots of paths were not open due to lingering snow and cable cars and trains were in maintenance, however also fewer people were around which for me was more important. Also I had some lucky perfect visibility days, and some all views behind the fog and drizzles non stop days, would be very unlucky to have only those. Essential transportation connections were maintained (bus instead of train or at least one cable car open), so that's not a big concern.

    Murren is a small town in the Alps.

    Murren is a small town in the Alps. It has many hotels and restaurants. It has a grocery store and some shops. The people are friendly and I always felt safe. It is a car free town but it is easy to get to by cable car and train. The hiking in the area is absolutely gorgeous.

    Murren offers easy access to all areas of the Lauterbrunnen valley, and a short walk to the Schilthorn gondola. Many hikes nearby, lots of restaurants and hotels. Gorgeous views of the mountains as well.

    Great location just a short walk from Mürren BLM station. I was pleasantly surprised to get a mountain-facing room despite booking a single — the view from the balcony was incredible. The room was clean, well-kept, and perfect for a solo traveler. Staff were friendly, and the on-site restaurant was convenient. Overall, excellent value for money in a stunning setting.
