We stayed on the top floor. This floor has a shared living area with other rooms that we could relax in, read a book, enjoy the panaramic views, enjoy a beer etc. This was especially appreciated after days in the mountains. Combined with comfortable beds, a spotless shared bathroom and hosts that could not be more welcoming and generous in their hospitality, we would recommend Bellevue to anyone seeking accommodation in the area or a base from which to hit the high mountains.

Lovely place & a beautiful setting, however I would plan ahead what you would like to do, hire a car and remember that everything closes on a Sunday - shops, leisure facilities etc. I think 2-3 days in and around Sierre is ideal - I would recommend also visiting Sion. In Sierre itself I would recommend wine tasting and visiting the underground lake. The urban areas are nice, especially in Sion (basilica and chateaux, which characterful centre), but the outdoors is the true merit of this region.

I come to this region since 47 years already.

I come to this region since 47 years already. Sierre itself is a place with a very relaxed atmosphere. There is a castle - Chateau Mercier, access to Europ‘s longes cable car to Crans Montana, post bus to Valle d‘Anniviers some wine tour (I have no personal experience with) and plenty of restaurants for a 16k population place. Sierre can be accessed by train (my fav method). It is surrounded by majestic mountains and vineyards on the lower hill slopes. Most locals are friendly and the overall atmosphere is inviting for unwinding.

We completed two stages of the Leuk-Martigny hike and the Hohtenn-Ausserberg section at the Lötschberg Tunnel. Sierre is well-suited as a "base camp" thanks to its excellent public transport connections. There are some lovely houses in the old town. We also enjoyed a nice short hike around Lac de Géronde.
