My fiancé and I were blown away by the TWO massive swimming pools surrounded by mountain views - we had romantic midnight swims under the stars! The location is unbeatable: just a 2-min golf cart ride to Zhangjiajie Forest Park entrance (yes, the cart waits for you!). Staff even arranged our hiking routes to avoid crowds. Breakfast noodles and freshly baked croissants were to die for. Already planning our anniversary trip back! P.S. Ask for Room 301 - best private balcony!

The service was very warm and very thoughtful in organizing our trip, the hilltop setting was great, the village was very clean, and after the heavy rain, it was just as beautiful as the picture! The room was clean, well equipped and very comfortable The favorite part was the pool, which was really out of this world Great travel experience, will definitely come back!

Mountain side was a fantastic base for our family, friendly staff, quiet and comfortable, away from bright lights and noise to wind down after spending all day out exploring Zhangjiejie National park and Tianmen mountain. Anthony assisted in booking all of our daily exploration of the stunning surroundings. I can highly recommend utilising the 4 day itinerary Mountainside recommends.

Beautiful hotel located at a small village,great location close to the entrance of national park,no queue up to Avatar mountain.you can enjoying sunrise at the room. We had a very warm welcome. Luckily we could speak English with the owner which is not always possible in China. She was very helpful and gave us good advice. The place is very close to the entrance to the park.

My stay at Guan Yun Shan Ju was an absolutely unforgettable experience. Tucked away in the serene mountains, this lodge truly lives up to its name "Cloud-Gazing." Waking up to a sea of clouds right outside our window was nothing short of magical. The room was impeccably clean, spacious, and beautifully decorated with a tasteful blend of modern comfort and traditional charm. The wooden beams and soft lighting created a very cozy atmosphere. The hospitality of the staff was exceptional; they were incredibly warm and attentive, making us feel right at home. The food was another highlight! We enjoyed delicious, locally-sourced meals that were both fresh and flavorful. Sitting on the terrace, sipping tea, and watching the clouds roll by was the perfect way to unwind. It's an ideal retreat for anyone looking to disconnect from the city's hustle and bustle and reconnect with nature. I cannot recommend this place highly enough and will definitely be returning.

We've just returned from a thoroughly delightful stay. The hotel is perfectly situated for the national park – one simply walks out of the gate and one is there. It's all terribly convenient. Our room was spotlessly clean and remarkably comfortable, offering a rather lovely view of the peaks. The swimming pool was a godsend after a day's walking, and the grounds with the little stream are quite charming. What really made the difference was the staff. So helpful and polite, without being intrusive. They provided excellent advice on routes and handled the ticket bookings seamlessly. The breakfast was rather good, too – a splendid start to the day. All in all, a most agreeable and well-run establishment. We should not hesitate to recommend it to fellow travellers.

Stayed at Peak&Cloud Retreat for 3 nights and absolutely loved it. Bloody brilliant spot right by the national park entrance – saved us heaps of time queueing. The views from the room were unreal, especially at sunrise when the clouds rolled over the peaks. The staff were proper legends – so helpful with hiking tips and even sorted our park tickets. Room was spotless, and the brekkie had both Western and local options. Would 100% recommend this place to anyone visiting Zhangjiajie. Cheers!
