Everything was simply spectacular: the whole staff is always keen to help and make you feel at home, starting from Lana, the incredible owner of the lodge; the food is local, fresh and delicious; there is a whole range of activities that Lana organize - we even had the opportunity to participate to a Cacao ceremony that was quite an experience. You could literally spend from few days to few months in that lodge as you will always feel at home. The view of the yoga place is spectacular. Just keep in mind that the road to get there requires 4W car and a really expert driver, so if you don’t feel confident, is a good option to accept the lift from the lodge.

Carlos and his family were lovely, we had a wonderfull stay in the middle of the rain forest. You have breakfast next to Toucans, Aracaris etc. And Carlos explained all flora + fauna around 👍👍👍 Great breakfast and dinner. The rooms are very clean, there is basic equipment but everything you need. Beds are very comfortable. We would definitely stay there again. All the best for Carlos and his lovely family.

Finca Sueno de Osa has a garden, terrace, a restaurant and bar in Puerto Jiménez. Boasting family rooms, this property also provides guests with a barbecue.

Finca Sueno del Oso is the closest you will get to a genuine jungle adventure without going on a real expedition. Felipe owns a large part of the jungle, and with his family he has made several trails available for his guests. There is plenty to discover for several days at all abilities, easier to hard. Felipe and/or his wife and adult son accompanies you to make sure you are safe, you have the option to explore on your own too. The trails are full of life and jaw-dropping nature, and give you the opportunity to experience the real rainforest. We were so lucky to be accompanied by Felipes wife and son, who we felt were very genuine and warm. The son is very knowledgeable about the faulage and animals of the forest, and shared his knowledge in a very natural way. Our teenage sons especially enjoyed the company and were very excited on the trails, but we all had a fantasticly enjoyable adventure. At the house the food was very good and always homemade of natural ingredients from the surrounding compound and forest. We highly recommend a stay at Finca Sueno del Oso, especially if you want a real natural experience away from the more commercial Costa Rica. Its an extra bonus that it turned out much cheaper than having to go on the commercial tours in Corcovado.

If you like hiking and living outdoors; GO HERE. It is so worth the journey from wherever you come from. To get here you have to hike +-30 minutes uphill from Dos Brazos. If you're fit you can take your whole backpack etc with you on the hike, however I'd recommend leaving some of your stuff below so you don't have to take everything along. You can buy some food (eggs/rice/tomato sauce/pasta) in the hostel, however I'd suggest brining your own if you can since they are a bit more expensive on the spot. I hitchhiked from puerto jiménez to Dos Brazos, be prepared to wait some time since there is not a lot of traffic going from the main road to Dos Brazos.

Danta Corcovado Lodge offers its guests a library, Wi-Fi access in public areas free of charge and extensive gardens. Tea and coffee services are available from 06:00 to 22:00 hours.

We liked absolutely everything at the Danta Corcovado lodge, it was actually our best accommodation so far in Costa Rica. The service is great, the food is amazing at both breakfast and dinner, the room is something special , the territory of the lodge is quite large, has many trails around the lodge, the location is close to the beach. Breakfast had 5 or 6 different choices to choose from. The design is very modern, a lot of creativity. Large room. No need for AC, the room doesn't have windows but has mosqueto nets. There is a possibility to take tours from that place but we didn't so can't comment. We stayed here on the way back from the Corcovado overnight Serena tour. If I could rate it higher than 10 I would gladly do it! Next time we will plan to stay in this place for longer.

I was lucky enough to be one of the first guests at El Cerrito and I had the most amazing time there. Lis and Dan were so welcoming and the cabin was really comfortable and peaceful, exactly what I was looking for. I saw all kinds of wildlife there - monkeys, tucans, macaws, iguanas, frogs, humming birds, butterflies and sloths. It really felt like being in the jungle but with all the comforts of home. I was originally planning on doing a tour in Corcovado but I ended up doing a tour here with local guides instead and I'm so happy that I did. I got to see so many animals at a fraction of the price of what I would have paid at Corcovado. I will definitely be coming back here again in the future!

We had a wonderful time at Maze Lodge in the middle of the jungle! Sure the road is a little bumpy but nothing a 4x4 car (we had a Suzuki Jimny) can't handle...a little adventure ride for free :) We want to thank our hosts Frida and Alexander so much for hospitality and their support!
