The room was very clean, as was the bathroom. The lady was so sweet and let me keep the room the next day until I went to the airport without my even asking. It was in a good location for the hike I wanted. Comfortable, safe and good value for money. They also organised a cheaper airport taxi. Very responsive to messages. Thanks again for the great stay

Authentic village life at its best! Tugged away from the rest of the world, Ja opened a room of her ancestor's home to guests who would like to experience what it's like to live in Cape Verdian raw country side - which includes being offline, taking cold showers with a bucket and a mug, sleeping in pin drop silence (apart from the roosters), walking in the steep hills, etc. One can go with a shared taxi until the roundabout of Sao Domingos. From there, a local can come and pick you up for 300 ESC, or you can walk (it's absolutely safe, the locals are friendly and helpful, location on the map is accurate). They can also drop you to the airport for 1500 ESC, and it just takes 30mins to reach. Ja knows how to cook for vegetarians, too. She is a witty and interesting host to talk to. I am still amazed at the purity and simplicity of this place, and hope to be back one day.

We really liked our stay here. It is a beautiful house in a beautiful environment. Unfortunately, the baobab tree is no longer alive, but the beauty of the house does not depend on the tree. We had breakfast and diner made by Lida, the neighbour, and really enjoyed the meals (vegetarian) The fruits (papaya and passionfruit) were very delicious. Thank you.
