It was tucked away a couple of miles off the main road with spectacular distant views over the black forest areas. Fabulous sunsets, peaceful and quiet with cows grazing next to the property. We were two couples traveling through Europe and Bauerleshutte was a perfect place to stay for 3 days. Would recommend as it had everything we were looking for. Thank you for allowing us Tony’s this fabulous apartment

Wonderfully friendly and warm atmosphere, we were made to feel truly welcome. I would like to say it was like staying with my family, but my family are not that nice!!! Well at least, my family do not cook as well. Breakfast and evening meals were always excellent and we highly recommend taking the half-board option as the food excels expectations. We are going back again, soon.

Great hotel! We stayed here for 3 nights in a Superior Double Room with Lake View and Balcony for about 1275 euros and we were extremely pleased. The hotel is very central, and the building is beautiful and charming. It’s one of the main buildings in Titisee and it’s very well kept, and the gardens are also beautiful. We pleased to note that parking was easy. They give clear instructions on how to find the parking lot and there are plenty of parking spots, and wide enough. You can also come and go as you want (we left our car parked the whole time, though). The staff is super friendly and between our beginner-level German and some members of the staff who spoke English, there were zero communication problems. Our room was wonderful. Lots of space, nice big wardrobe with many real hangers and clean and spacious bathroom. The view was wonderful and definitely worth it, and the balcony was also nice. The pillows that were there when we arrived were very thin and soft, but after we requested firmer ones, we had 4 wonderful pillows in total. The breakfast buffet was amazing as well. We also had dinner one night at the hotel, and although the prices are a bit steep, the quality is there and the staff, once again, was top notch. We also loved, loved, loved all the flowers at the hotel, especially all the lovely anthuriums at the restaurant and some common areas. The direct access to the lake was what we were mainly looking for and we were not disappointed. Also, the indoor and outdoor swimming pools are wonderful (and the water is not cold! the lake water can be freezing). You can also have a light meal and freshly squeezed fruit juices by the pool, which we really enjoyed. Overall, we had a great time and we are definitely coming back. Highly recommended!

The location is outstanding, with all the comfort one can expect. The dinners were fabulous, very different from the "average" schnitzel one can get in Germany. The service by Cara was perfect and friendly. There are 2 pools, multiple saunas, a well equipped fitness room, and a fabulous garden away from city noises.

The scenery is splendid.

The scenery is splendid. It's a real pleasure to walk around the surrounding area. There's very little choice at the restaurant (and the prices are excessive), however, the breakfast is plentiful with a bit of everything available at the self-service counter.

Breitnau is an excellent destination for hiking enthusiasts.

Breitnau is an excellent destination for hiking enthusiasts. The scenery is magnificent and the hiking trails are countless. You can also enjoy numerous cycling paths. A meal at Gasthof Löwen at the entrance to the village of Breitnau is a must: delicious, affordable, home-style cooking. Be sure to book in advance!

Breinau and Hinterzarten belong together.

Breinau and Hinterzarten belong together. During our vacation, the young boys and girls of the German ski jumping team were training on the ski jump in Hinterzarten. The towns are small, but all the necessary infrastructure is available. All buses and the German Rail (DB) are free to use; you can reach Freiburg by train in 35 minutes.

I filtered my search by "accommodation for people with...

I filtered my search by "accommodation for people with reduced mobility," but it wasn't. Access to the rooms in the building involves stairs but no handrail. Breakfast is served in a separate building with difficult access.

Excellent for an affordable one-night stay with two children...

Excellent for an affordable one-night stay with two children on our way to Italy. The hotel and rooms are dated but clean; the bed was a bit saggy. The restrooms are fine. Parking is available behind the hotel, but the grounds are not enclosed, so it's accessible to others from the street. Breakfast was mediocre in taste and selection, but adequate.

Comfortable, clean and in a great location (away from the busiest parts of the Black Forest). The owner and staff couldn’t be more helpful and friendly, and accommodated our spaniel really well. Beautiful walks from the hotel with spectacular views. Would definitely go back.
