You are given a unit to yourself, which is basically a double story house. There is a TV and kitchen and 2 bathrooms. The shower and bathtub were both quite fancy with various settings and great water pressure. The windows all had the automatic outside blinds which assisted in keeping the room dark and at a good temperature. It was also close to city centre, which was great as we walked everywhere.

The property was perfect for families or if your travelling alone. Our room was excellent for myself and my 6 year old. The apartment was fully equipped with a little compact kitchen, oven, fridge, table and chairs. No sofa to sit on just the chairs.

Super friendly staff, attentive and thorough! We had an issue before arriving that the hotel employee solved in a professional manner. The location of the hotel is ideal, easy parking, and a lovely view of the castle from our room. The breakfast is really great, not the typical hotel buffet. One can order eggs and fruit salad to be made fresh. The atmosphere in the rooms and breakfast area was really inviting and stylish. We can't recommend this place enough!

Elbingerode has no tourist attractions.

Elbingerode has no tourist attractions. You have to drive quite a few kilometers to discover the beautiful places and sights of the Harz Mountains. The Hermannshöhle cave is not far away and is worth a visit. Next time we visit the Harz, we would choose a more attractive town.

Great holiday home, very clean and cozy.

Great holiday home, very clean and cozy. Very quiet location, no traffic, although there's a long gravel road to get there. Large, well-maintained garden with plenty of furniture. There's not much to do in the town itself, with two good restaurants, but few options for vegetarians. Wernigerode offers many more options.

The food at the Golden Eagle is excellent, and the doner kebab grill is also highly recommended. The Büchenberg show mine was closed, despite being advertised as open. The Kartoffelkate (potato shop) is terrible value for money! Be sure to visit Hoffmann Bakery and Müller Butcher Shop.

In my opinion, people go to Elbingerode because of its...

In my opinion, people go to Elbingerode because of its proximity to other attractions in the Harz Mountains, such as Wernigerode, Thale, or the suspension bridge. The dining options are very limited, but Wernigerode is just a few minutes away. There are two local shops, which is a plus.

Well, it was winter, but one would still have expected more restaurants to be open. Quite a contrast between the hospital complex, which wonderfully combines modernity and tradition, and in whose guesthouse we stayed, and the town itself, which isn't really all that great.

Super clean hotel! Very quiet surroundings and quiet hotel! Our son made some noise at 6-6:30am on Sunday, so if in some reviews, next to mine, will be written the guests were noisy, it was us! 😬 guests are not allowed to walk inside with the street shoes and it is great!! I think they use organic washing powder for the laundry and I think the soap in the bathroom was organic too. Communication with Britta was also great!
