When booking one would not expect much from a travelers home, but on arrival it's surprising how exceptional this place is. It is a very romantic special place to stay overnight or more at the river Main. The rooms are located in a ex railway station building. We were lucky to have a room with a view to the river and railway. Trains are stopping next to your window and passing by but they do not disturb at all. It's like to be very close to another reality where there is a chance to jump into it, taking a train trip to somewhere. There is also a small terrace available where one can enjoy a cup of great coffee from Travelers Home kitchenette.

I highly recommend Wertheimer Stuben if you are planning a trip to Wertheim. Check-in was quick and easy. And, since our room was ready they allowed early check-in at no additional charge. The staff were all incredible and willing to help with anything. They even provided us extra plug adapters during our stay. All of the front office & kitchen staff spoke excellent English. The breakfast was also excellent, and included fresh breads, fruits, cheeses, meats, juices, jams, variety of coffee choices, as well as eggs & bacon. The location was also excellent and allowed easy walks to to many shops, cafes, restaurants, and site seeing. Parking was just around the corner and very convenient at around 4 Euros/day.

Very pretty accommodation, super comfortable, even if the room was small (not an inconvenient for a one-night stay). Exceptionally clean, while the breakfast was very nice and had a variety of vegetarian options that were also good for non-vegetarians. We arrived late, but the check-in was smooth.

Altstadt Hotel Baunachshof is, as its name suggests, in the old town and a great location for sightseeing in that area of Wertheim, walking up to the castle, or strolling the short distance to the confluence of the Tauber and Main rivers. The spotless room was remarkably well equipped and designed to be practical, seeming larger than its size. It has good lighting, a spacious bathroom with good shower, fridge, table and two chairs. When we failed to spot the QR code on the room card for Wifi, I asked via booking.com and the hotel team rapidly explained. The parking garage is very close and reasonably priced at EUR5 for a day. We opted out of the breakfast and popped round the corner to a super bakery (Bäckerei Frischmuth) for a lighter breakfast.
