Food was not good.

Food was not good. Service at the Buffet could have been much better. Rooms need attention. Lights need to be brighter, fans need controls, our door lock needed repair to lock. No water pressure in sink. The resort was attractive & kept clean.

I like the Mountains behind the Bay...

I like the Mountains behind the Bay...I love to see those mountains..There is a Jesus Statue donated by Rio to Puerto Plata, a miniature reproduction..The market is fun..not much into beaches..Great Ice Cream on the Central Plaza next to the Church..The Church Steeple is a great reference point when lost.A nice bus ride of 2.5 hours from Santo Domingo..Came by Carib Tours...walked up to the place on day one from the Bus station..a 10 minute walk up the hill.

Nothing compared to what we see online.

Nothing compared to what we see online. It’s not worthy to visit the country, drive such a long distance and waste time and money to visit Puerto Plata. It’s not worth it. The beach just okay, the Centro Hisyorico” not worth it, and the such “teleférico” not in service for the last 3 years😐

Enjoyed our very brief time there, 2 days only. Time spent relaxing on the beach was wonderful before heading back to the cold in Canada. Unfortunately it was quite windy on those days so did not get in for a swim, the sand was really stirred up and would love to visit again on a calm day in order to be able to enjoy the water. I would have enjoyed being able to wander through looking at the "touristy" items but absolutely cannot stand the locals luring tactics so missed out on ALL of that. Ah well, saved money in that regard. Le Petit Francois has good draft beer specials at RD.50 per large glass, had a generous amount of food on our plates for breakfast which was the fruit plate and typical Dominican breakfast. Very good. All in all I would recommend staying in this area. We stayed in Cortalang Vacation Rentals apartment building. Nice but simple suite. Grabbing an Uber is also very easy. Uber to POP airport cost $30 USD. Taxi would have cost the same, didn't notice them outside the area till we ordered the Uber though.

I will not come here.

I will not come here. You will be very disappointed The staff is very nice. As for room service don't bother. I called and they never came. The theater is not all that. Part of the ceiling fell and they didn't even caution it off. Some people fell and got hurt. People were walking with water up to they're ankles. It was a disaster.

I like the area and always feel safe.

I like the area and always feel safe. I do go off complex whether to go to town to the supermarket or to go the bars on the malecon (beach front) I also go horseback riding while there . Prices out of the complex are much more reasonable for everything as is with all complexes

On the whole, the staff were friendly & accomodating. Pools were nice, food pretty good. It was the rooms that let it down. Bathrooms are in pretty poor condition; the shower over bath used to fill with water every time we showered, & was dangerous stepping out! We didn’t get clean towels every day & had no hot water for almost a week. Sadly I wouldn’t go back unless the rooms were refurbished. Definitely not a 5 star hotel!!

The staff is super friendly and helpful. Fast service and always a nice smile. The lady at breakfast (I didn’t get her name) went above and beyond to give us the best service and meet and our requests. The food, especially breakfast was good. We would happily return to this hotel.
