We had great experience at the Pestana Hotel! Great location at the heart of Madrid with easy access to all of the main sightseeings and a really nice exterior. The communication before our arrival was perfect, the staff is very helpful and kind. The hotel restaurant is a top place to dine. The pool and sauna are a nice bonus at the end of the day. We had a double room that is a bit smaller if traveling with a child but is a great for couples.

The Spanish Soul of Art and Entertainment

Modern Madrid is one of the greenest cities in Europe and the most popular destination in Spain. Whether you want to experience its legendary nightlife or a flamenco show, this is the place to be.

The renowned Museo del Prado holds one of the world’s finest art collections with iconic paintings by El Greco, Velázquez and Goya. For more modern touch, the Museo Reina Sofia houses Picasso’s and Dali’s most respected works.

Start your evening at Puerta del Sol, one of the city’s busiest spots. Make some room in your stomach for great tapas and sangria in La Latina district, south of the city’s most famous plaza, Plaza Mayor.

Real Madrid plays at Santiago Bernabeu and Atlético Madrid competes at Vicente Calderón Stadium, two opportunities that no sports fan will want to miss. The popular Salamanca district is a great place to look for boutique gifts and unique shops.

Thanks to great public transportation system, getting to the city centre from Madrid Barajas International Airport is very easy. Whether you’re looking for luxury hotels, budget hostels or comfy apartments, Booking.com has a perfect place for your Madrid holiday.

It is a great and very interesting city to visit. The traffic is very bad and I would not recommend renting a car. The metro is very clean and efficient for travel. .We love the area where we have stayed twice, around Principe Pio. There is a massive park. There are good vibes and lots of young people. There are lots of restaurants in the Principe Pio complex.

The area has plenty of shops and metro stations, which is very convenient. However, I didn’t like the general lack of cleanliness — there was quite a bit of trash on the streets and a noticeable smell of urine in some of the narrower alleys.

i’ve been to paris, rome, tirana, and madrid, and i live in florianópolis (one of the most beautiful cities in brazil). madrid is by far the most beautiful city i’ve seen so far. i don’t understand a word of spanish, but spanish people understand a bit of portuguese and are extremely friendly. they make an effort to understand, they even try to speak portuguese, it’s really nice. the 5g connection there is poor. store wi-fi networks rarely work. on the street, 5g works slowly, but as soon as you enter a store, the signal drops by about 60%. and in stores with floors below ground level, forget it , there’s no wi-fi or 5g at all.

We only spent 1 full day in Madrid, at the end of our 2 week trip around NE region of Spain. We walked 10 miles through the city. The Puerto de Sol and Mayer squares/Gran Via area were VERY crowded the Saturday we were there (kind of like Times Square on New Years Eve!). Reina Sophia Museum was very nice and free for seniors! If you like city life, there were many, many restaurants in addition to upscale shopping. There were city festivities such as singing in the square. Personally, we preferred Barcelona.

There are few hotels where you can say everything was flawless (except for our key cards not working once), and this is one of them. On top of that the location is excellent being directly in the city centre whilst they manage to keep the rooms wonderfully quiet. The walls were a little bit thin but much better than the typical hotel standard. The bar on top of the hotel was a nice reprieve from the overcrowded bars of Madrid

Excellent location to visit Madrid city centre with its historic buildings, restaurants and parks. The room was very well-appointed. A bit cramped around the wardrobe area. Whole hotel was lovely with unique decor. Turn down service was a treat. The pool was not open in March - not sure we were made aware of that. Helpful, welcoming staff. Overall, certainly recommended.

There was only one good thing about this hotel and that was leaving on the bus to the airport. It is provided free of charge. However there is no metro stop near the hotel at all so getting there was a problem and cost 12 euros in a taxi. It is only 6 euros for 10 journeys in Madrid on metro that goes straight to airport so it’s actually cheaper to stay nearer city centre
