Everything was excellent! The apartment is super good equipped. Especially the kitchen, which invited us for cooking and then we enjoyed the meal at the wonderful terrace. The view is magnificent especially at day. At night you can lay on the sunbeds and watch the stars. One amazing beach (playa del Ingles) is only 5min by car and many hiking routes at about 20min driving. The wellness area is also nice and clean and the view from the sauna is spectacular! You share it with the other appartments, but during our stay we were always alone. The bed is very comfortable, although quite soft. The communication with the owners and the caretaker Dirk were very good. The only thing is that the internet didn't work throughout our stay. But we had enough MB on our cellphones, so we didn't see it as a big problem. Overall, we will be happy to stay again here, if we visit again la Gomera.

The house is in a beautiful spot in the valley, the views are amazing. Very comfortable house and the terrace was perfect for relaxing. Quiet area. Also a great location, as it's just a short ride to the parque for some walking and downhill is a cosy beach town with nice restaurants. Finally a nice bed in the Canaries! So far, we only had very hard mattresses, but this bed was very comfortable. Also appreciated the tea pot, which is rare to find in Southern countries. All in all, absolutely enjoyed our stay. We would have loved to stay longer.

Valle Gran Rey is very beautiful situated at the bottom of a very steep valley with spectacular scenery. You have to be able to cope with very windy mountain roads with sheer drops! It is dominated with German travellers and has multiple good restaurants at very friendly prices.

The scenery is outstandingly breath taking.

The scenery is outstandingly breath taking. The ride into the area and leaving is awesome. there are some nice places to eat and mini market shops . We chose a restaurant Esperanto by the Port , it is owned by a couple from Germany. The husband being the Chef. The food was excellent and highly recommend a visit.

I have been here several times.

I have been here several times. It's a great place for a winter escape. Once you've got the boat over from Tenerife, you get round the island by bus, taxi or boat, and it's away from the crowds. Good place to go if you like hiking, and just as good if you prefer to potter about. You're never that far from the beach. Mountains behind you and the sea in front of you. Watching the sunset each evening over the sea is a "thing". Good places to eat and drink. Love it here.

It's a lovely peaceful, chilled out little town.

It's a lovely peaceful, chilled out little town. Lovely beach and has a super arty, hippy vibe. A few great little shops but nothing too commercialised. I only stayed 1 night but 3 or 4 in good weather would have been lovely too. You can walk around the whole place. There are buses serving the town from Vallehermoso and San Sebastian and the airport. They are very cheap and reliable.

Valle Gran Rey is absolutely gorgeous! Mountain and sea, very green, very good food (I recommend El Puerto restaurant). I had heard good things about this place, but the reality exceeded my expectations

Stunning views of mountains, sea views and views of the...

Stunning views of mountains, sea views and views of the other canary islands. Good selection of beaches. Good choice of bars and restaurants, some music and entertainment in local venues. A few buses a day to get to the trails and back to San Sebastian. Difficult to work out the bus times at the stops in-between. (I would have liked more information on how the buses link up to trails and information on local moderate walks for newbie walkers who are not very confident!) but the views from the trails are awesome! If i came again i would sign up to some organised walks. But for experienced and confident hikers the trails are very clearly marked.

We were unable to get a room facing the sea but were more than happy with our view of the valley and mountains. The hotel was clean, quiet and comfortable. Breakfast was fine and could be eaten on the terrace. The buffet dinner had a great choice of quality food and was good value. The pool is small but in a beautiful setting and the beach is just across the road. The hotel is a good choice for relaxing in Valle Gran Rey or exploring the island. We really enjoyed our stay.

With Héctor you will find the most friendly and helpful host on La Gomera. The apartamentos misses nothing, you have parking, an nice pool that you will only share with few people, and a nice braai place that you even don't have to clean yourself. Everything is around the corner, you can quite enjoy the stay there!

We stayed 2 nights in Valle Gran Rey, , perfect location for the beach, simple twin beds and accommodation. We also stayed in Hermigua, Casita Bella Vista , perfect little cottage, double beds and private garden and terrace.. Perfect for hiking Highly recommended both places .
