We loved our stay here! The hotel has a slightly old-fashioned style, but it’s nice and comfortable. The location is amazing — lakes, trails, nature is around, yet only 10–15 minutes by bike to the city center. We travelled with our dog and got a ground-floor room with direct access to the grass, which was very convenient. The hotel even gave our dog a small gift. Breakfast was varied, with gluten-free options, and even decaf coffee (instant, but still nice). The spa is excellent, with direct access from the hotel (note: saunas are separate for men and women). Staff were friendly and helpful:) Some reviews say that the air conditioning doesn’t work well — this is true. There was a fan in the room, and it got a bit stuffy at night in summer. But opening the window solved the problem, and it was very quiet outside.

Incredible value for money. The building has a fascinating history and is really well set-up even for longer stays, with a great shared kitchen with pretty much everything you need to cook your own meals, en suite toilets plus a shared shower, very comfortable beds and access to a beautiful lakeside. WiFi was fast, with solid signal in our room. Our host was very friendly and told us loads about the site, and we were also allowed to use the sauna by the lakeside. Our dog was very welcome at no extra charge. Off-road parking is available out the front of the building.

This is not just simply an apartment. It is everything that the hostess wishes to well accommodate her guests reincarnated. Central location, an extremely comfortable bed, and not to mention a well stocked kitchen that could cater to birthday parties or any event of the sort. Washroom has a washing machine, and all the amenities included. This is not a place to miss if you are staying in this city.

Throughout our weekend, we kept commenting how all of the little extras such as the individual milk and butter in the fridge and the dog-friendly treats and bowls all made a big difference in the comfort of the place. Everything was clean and welcoming, the bed was comfy, and the location is great.

Hameenlinna has some excellent museums, including Hame Castle, The Prison, and Sibelius's birthplace (small but important), but always check their opening times; we wanted to visit the Palanderin Talo (a house-museum that would have given us insights into 19th century Finnish life) but it closed at 1600 hours on a Saturday! Aulanko is a pleasant park a few kilometres north of the city. We had our best meal during this trip to Finland at the Piparkakkutalo restaurant, with its lovely ambience, delicious food and charming staff. Note that much of the city centre consists of boring modern buildings, many of which are unused and grafittied.

The facilities were certainly not arranged for Foreigners.

The facilities were certainly not arranged for Foreigners. Arriving to the olace (late evening) there was not any real guiding information, - there are no room numbers (only room names in Finish language), and thus no logic way to find your room :-( Finally, the code to open the room door did not work.

Excellent location overlooking the lake on the quiet side and very near the train station. The hotel has just been totally renovated and is beautiful and stylish. It is very clean although our room was not serviced, despite our requesting this.

Hotel has been renovated and is much better than last time I was here in 2017. Central location in Hml., good breakfast, and room clean with all basic facilities needed. Price under 100 € which is rare these days in this country.

The room and the environment are great. It's so quiet for professional purposes. Though I couldn't have a chance to visit the spa, but the breakfast was excellent. I love the nature surrounding the hotel rooms.
