The restaurant was phenomenal. We asked for a special table and they were able to accommodate us. The food was delicious. We got a great recommendation for the vine. We got a little gift at check-out - a bottle of vine. It was so thoughtful. Thank you so much. The rooms were cleaned daily. The hotel have a beautiful garden with friendly animals. Pool is also a big plus. We absolutely loved our stay. Merci.

Host met us at property. We were a 7 min walk to the chateau of Chenonceau, which was brilliant as we did not need to take car. The gite's garden is vast with lots of different spaces to sit. We opted to stay in one spot and radiate from there. Good plan.

A stylish, comfortable room with good amenites. An extremely pleasant and helpful man at reception. He has gone out of his way to help me after I left my coat there. We had an excellent breakfast and evening meal. It was a perfect stop in a quiet village en route to Nantes.

Although the interior of the room was made from simple materials it was really appealing, colourful and comfortable. Good design! The restaurant made us stay longer than planned (we liked it) and the staff we met was very friendly. Next time again!

The chateau is really beautiful compared to, say, Blois or...

The chateau is really beautiful compared to, say, Blois or Amboise. No other chateau was built across a river. Its history is unique in that it’s closely connected to six females. Chenonceaux is a very small town. I was there in the fall and I found only one cafe open. If you are not staying in a hotel it’s better you find something to eat in the chateau. If you are not driving you can reach the chateau easily. The chateau is practically next to the train station.

Cannot fault a single thing.

Cannot fault a single thing. When we arrived (late afternoon) there was no space in the restaurant for that evening for dinner but the staff were extremely helpful in recommending alternative venues in the village and offered room service if that failed. Our accommodation was excellent, food in the restaurant first class and wonderful staff.

Plan to spend a whole day to discover the castle and gardens. You can ask for a stamp on your wrist to leave the grounds and return within the same day, so you don't have to eat overpriced food with thousands of tourists. You can get sandwiches at the local bakery for picnic. We highly recommend taking the audio guide: it must be booked in advance, as they tend to run out of them. The audio guide has several extra recordings that provide interesting info (e.g., food in the Renaissance times, sleeping advice from Ambroise Paré, the WWI and WWII periods, etc). We stayed at the Clos Medicis: great location, great room with comfy beds. highly recommended!

The Chateau and gardens are amazing!

The Chateau and gardens are amazing! The only detraction was that our visit was on a very hot Sunday afternoon and the number of visitors made it crowded. Still, the flow of the audio tour through the Chateau moved along. The online reservation system worked fine. A huge number of kayakers and boaters in the River Cher made photo opportunities challenging. Despite these issues it was a great experience and a tremendous learning opportunity regarding the history.

The Chateau was fun and interesting, obviously old and well taken care of, and the walk through the rooms was well designed. It was crowded considering distancing requirements, but you could make your way to all the rooms without a problem. The grounds were the more interesting part of the visit and we could have spent more time exploring them. Also, if you've got time, there's a bridge down the river (east) from the Chateau and there's a number of different options for boats and canoes to see the Chateau from the river.

A magnificent castle, decorated inside with seasonal bouquets, and beautiful gardens. The outbuildings are also worth seeing (the wine cellar, the tableware, etc.). There's a self-service restaurant in one of the outbuildings, and at the entrance, a snack bar near the ticket office, with picnic tables at the castle entrance.

A warm welcome by the lady on reception who showed us to our room. On a day which was extremely hot we were pleasantly surprised at how cool the room was and it was extremely spacious and well laid out. The swimming pool was lovely although none of the loungers and seating had shade. Chenonceaux chateau is just around the corner as well as the railway station, although very little else in this remote village.

Wonderful location, romantic lodgings, extremely clean, very good gastronomic restaurant. In view of the quality, the prices for both restaurant and for this family owned 5 star hotel are, in view of the prices elsewhere, very reasonable.
