To start with, we were very late in arriving, we didn't get there until 9pm. Bare in mind that this is a guest house, run by a family, who probably wanted to settle for the night - however, the lady was stood at the front door when we arrived and welcomed us in. She showed us the room and the process for breakfast. There was a fridge available to keep our drinks cold overnight. The room was a good size with a table and chairs to sit at for your breakfast, a bathroom with a bath and free wifi. I liked that the bed was with sheet and blanket as I get very hot through the night, so it was a nice option to kick off the blanket. The bathroom was big with a full size bath and good size bath towels. After hours of driving, a nice hot bath was lovely. The cleanliness was the best we've stayed in. Usually there is black mould around the sealant of baths and showers or grime in the corners, dust on surfaces or a stain somewhere - but there was nothing. The cleanliness was exceptional. I imagine in hotels the cleaners have a short amount of time in each room and so are limited with what they can do, but the accommodation here is clearly loved and cleaned with pride. I cannot fault the state of the venue, room or bathroom. We had a choice for breakfast time and it was delivered to our room. Lovely breakfast, including a home made flan / tart - I think it was fig? Very delicious. Check out was easy and the host is such a lovely lady.

Late September arrival. Le Ressignol Gite. Hosts were wonderful. Fresh baked choc chip cookies & jam on arrival, a gastronomic delight. Our little well behaved poodle was allowed to roam free and had a delightful time trying to catch geckos scuttling about in the borders. Such a quiet tranquil oasis. The quiet only interrupted by Walnuts falling from the trees or the woodpecker pecking for grubs.

Everything about the property was perfect. The staff were very friendly and helpful, the room was very good, including a very comfortable bed. The food in the Informel restaurant was of a very high standard with wine at sensible prices. The breakfast was also very good. The grounds are beautiful and very well tended. We shall be definately returning again
