Absolutely stunning location overlooking Mont Blanc. I recommend paying the extra for a balcony and Mont Blanc facing room. I didn't initially but was fortunate to upgrade to one and its definitely worth it. The staff are friendly and helpful. The lady who checked us in was brilliant and couldn't be more helpful. The interior is cosy with a number of small 'lounges' which are nicely decorated. Outside there are a variety of seating areas with views of the mountain. Breakfast and dinner is served on the terrace, weather permitting. Our room was a family room with a large double bed and two generous single bunk beds. Dinner was really nice and breakfast is a buffet style with the largest croissants and pain au chocolat I've seen. Packed lunches can also be provided on request. Overall a magical experience and I will definitely be looking to go back one day.

One of the best views in the valley. A tranquil and very comfortable place. We really loved the concept of being able to use the kitchen to prepare our own meals, pool and sauna were great after a hike. Octavio was really friendly and helpful. And those little Hermes shampoos 😍 We wish we stayed longer. Compliments to the owner and staff.

We were on a mission to revisit Parc de Merlet with our grandaughter thirty-six years after we took her mother. The Parc delivered, with Chamois, Mouflon and Marmots to enjoy. The views from accommodation on that side of the valley are the best in the valley. In Les Houches village, the local patisserie was visited and a different cake enjoyed every day. There were plenty of paths (including Tour de Mont Blanc) into the forest, for walks from the chalet. Wonderful Alpine wildlife is easy to find. It was convenient to take the free train into Chamonix and take a ride to Le Brevent then walk the ridge and back to the chalet. We did the Mer de Glas, to from Chamonix. We went up to Bellevue on the teleferique and walked across the alp, finding several wild flowers and even a rare Wart-Biter Grasshopper! We then took the Tramway du Mont Blanc down to Saint-Gervais-Les-Bains and had a lovely afternoon in the beautiful park. There was a very tough Via Ferrata for the over 70s (with 50 years experience) and a Go Ape-type circuit with a rock-climb included in the trail for the 10-year-old and her Mamma, then train back to Les Houches. One weekend evening was lively down in the village, but up on the hill we could sit out in relative calm and stare at the sunset on snowy Mont Blanc, stars and the torch-lights of mountaineers picking their way down. All-in-all, very relaxing.

Pros: The chalet is spacious, well located, and looks just like the photos. Beautiful surroundings. Cons: Very expensive for the experience. Out of 10 days, 5 with no hot water. Support was unresponsive (calls ignored, WhatsApp replies delayed). With small children this was very hard.

Don't stay overnight in crowded Chamonix, unless you like a...

Don't stay overnight in crowded Chamonix, unless you like a Disney-kind of atmosphere. Instead, village Les Houches has pleasant places overlooking the Mont Blanc glaciers. Easy bustrip (in summertime every 30 minutes) to take you to nice and easy or more difficult to reach summits and glaciers, by yourself or by taking a cable car.

Les Houches is a very beautiful town with bars/restaurants within walking distance. Free bus service and only 15mins from Chamonix. We had dinner in our hotel couple of nights Les sainte antoine which was very nice and would recommend.

For skiiing Les Houches is catering to all beginner to intermediate needs. Be early (months) to catch a ski instructor and be prepared to either cook at your accommodation or drive to somewhere else because the village doesn't offer too much for dining out.

sure, Chamonix/les houches is kind of an exclusive location; but this is too expensive for what it is for. And I had stayed to other ibis hotels before with much better service, equipment and eating options; the bad thing was, I was just by myself and received a tiny chamber, no table, noisy. Other rooms nexxt to me seemed to be larger. BUT - service was uninterested, not really friendly. Restaurant was not open.

Location is pretty great, the bus station is just outside the property while the Les Houches Bellevue gondola is nearby, accessible on foot. The Hamam was really good, the pool also looks nice and there was underground parking making everything easily available and convenient. The staff were really friendly and tried to do their best.
