The owners a lovely as is the property with lovely decor and great views across the valley. Close to Sarlat and driving distance to chateau, caves and plenty of lovely restaurants in Sarlat for and excellent meal and a huge local market in Sarlat.

It was pretty amazing being in a refurbished castle. The staff were excellent, everyone we met was so kind and the rooms were impeccably cleaned every day. The pool was an absolute bonus, especially on the hot days we had! Right in the heart of Sarlat too so easy to walk everywhere.

It's a little paradise, complete tranquility, unbelievably beautiful views from the garden terrace. The room was comfortable and spotless clean. The breakfast was great and we could have it in the garden which made it even more beautiful. The place is owned by a family and they are all lovely and great hosts and recommended many things we could do in the area and restaurants to try. The location was great too as you can get to an absolutely amazing restaurant 15minutes walk away from your stay and another small marvellous town can be reached by a 30minutes walk through a beautiful forest, it's a path that goes next to prehistoric sites on one side and the river on the other. We had an absolutely fantastic stay.

Perfect location, quite a night, but only five minutes on foot to the prehistoric museum. Small, but delicious breakfast. Very friendly owner and personnel. Too bad that it was too cold to use the pool. It looked very inviting. Parking right across from the hotel.

Airco( 41c outside) pool, sauna, hammam. We asked for two rooms close to each other and had an annexe on the second floor with two large rooms, perfect for us. The food in the bar was outstanding, not a full restaurant but some of the best food we had on our whole trip. All the staff were charming and helpful

The property was immaculate, well decorated and everything that been well thought out. The hosts were knowledgeable of the local area and very helpful. Delicious plates of local products were served on 2 nights which was lovely.

What a charming property. It is clearly loved by its owners. The views are spectacular and each room has been decorated with such individuality and passion. Claude and Mario are extraordinary hosts who could not do any more to make their guests feel comfortable. The breakfasts are fabulous with homemade cakes to make them even more delicious. The gardens are beautiful and complement the charm of the hamlet in which the hotel it located. We will certainly be returning.

A wonderful and very special place. Claude and Mario looked after us beautifully. Delicious food, beautifully cooked, and a peaceful and delightful setting. This is a home from home. Don't expect a 5 star hotel but rather a wonderful couple who welcome you and make sure you are happy and comfortable and extremely well fed and looked after. We loved it here and very much hope we will be able to come back..

Great location as very close to Sarlat and surrounding region. The property is immaculate, and the hosts are very welcoming. Our room had a very nice private terrace with views overlooking the valley and swimming pool. The breakfast was by far the best we have ever experienced at a hotel with lots of fresh patries, home baked cake, with fresh juice and excellent coffee.

The small Hotel Bien-Etre aux Cypress is a little gem. Beautifully situated in the small village of Marquay with a marvelous view. Very quiet. Our host Claude was wonderful to talk to and very helpful. Our king bed room was small but tastefully decorated, comfortable and clean. Great home base to explore the Perigueux.
