The location was stunning overlooking the Aveyron Gorge to the north of Monteils and the facilities were excellent being a newly built modern apartment with large rooms, window shutters (vital in summer temperatures of 30C plus), modern features, clean facilities and a large shaded terrace with table and chairs and a wonderful view of the forested gorge stretching south to the medieval Borg of the village and beyond. In addition Monteils has an outstanding restaurant and a well stocked mini-market / epicerie with a very friendly and helpful manager serving a wide range of foods, wine and household goods open from 9am to 12.15pm and 4,30 until 7.15pm on most days. All this and excellent value make this a truly superb property.

Really lovely, well decorated, excellent view over the river. All the facilities where good. We also really appreciated the generosity of spirit shown by how warm the appartment was when we arrived and the bottle of wine chilling in the fridge.

Just outside the city, you’ll find instant calm at Mon Plaisir. The property overlooks the river, parking is easy and free, and your hosts are gracious and kind people who speak both English and French. Two flights of stone steps bring you to a balcony with a beautiful view of the river, where you enter your spotlessly-clean room. Jacques and Bouchra have thought of everything that the tired traveler needs: juices in the fridge, tea-making facilities, chocolates, terry-cloth robes…a comfy bed, extra pillows and blankets, wifi, TV, and a delicious buffet breakfast the next morning. It was a real pleasure to meet our hosts and we will certainly go back again.

Neli and Thierry are generous hosts with Neli’s cooking a highlight. The room was modern and spotlessly clean. And the kitchen facilities shared with the other guests worked really well. Overall a very happy stay.
