Visiting St Tropez anytime is fabulous but during the Fetes des Voiles is something sensational! The atmosphere is electric, people are generally sooo cool and inclusive and the whole place just hums. People are having loads of fun everywhere but you don’t tend to see out of control drunks anywhere. If you are sitting on the fence and not sure about whether St Tropez is for you, go! there are no 5star hotel groups there.. no Mario's or sheratons or Hiltons ? wonder why ?? the hotels are overpriced for the value we get. But the city is lovely and a very nice place to visit. Ie. the Breakfast place where we stay - the older generation with old mentality are Races and Rude, but the new younger generation are very nice and polite. Saint Tropez was as beautiful as I expected. Going out of season made it very pleasant because there were no crowds . It was gently busy! It was very warm though. St tropez is a lovely old harbor and village, with fantastic views on a lovely bay, fun to visit off season, but a nightmare of traffic and crowd in the summer. They have their own farm and most of the products are their own. Sea food absolutely gorgeous (from the local fishermen)! Staff are very friendly, speaking at least two languages, veeery polite and smiling.
