The staff were all so friendly and welcoming. One staff member named Shannon was outstanding she was so lovely to me and my young daughters. Even before arriving, the hosts were very attentive and answered all questions I had promptly. Collecting the keys was so easy and right next to the public car park. The hosts were super friendly and welcoming, and the apartment was clean and cosy. They had everything there for us crockery, tea/coffee and milk, hairdryer, iron and ironing board, shower wash, shampoo and conditioner, and even a little box of Lindor chocolates each (super lovely touch!) the bed was very comfortable and had a great sleep. My only negative is that we didn’t stay longer!

Being a vegan, I wasn’t sure if we would be able to find any suitable options on the menu, however we were pleasantly surprised , there were a couple of options. I really enjoyed my ratatouille, served with chips and peas. Excellent value and very tasty, cooked to perfection. The room was huge and warm. The bed was comfortable and the staff were all lovely. What a great pub. We thoroughly enjoyed all aspects of our stay.

Shops, pubs and environ are excellent.

Shops, pubs and environ are excellent. There is a historic shop showing you where to go. Canal walks, Hatters garden, lovely small shops covered all needs. Excellent Curry restaurant just opened. Well cooked not too salty for aged us :). Buzzing, near Warwick Castle, Nuneaton, Coventry. Fast train services only 1 1/2 hour from London. An excellent feature is The Original Factory Shop - best we have ever seen - very large - on the high street. A hidden jewel - Of course we stayed at the Red Lion which as a converted coaching hotel came up to all expectations and facilities.

A lovely little town, with incredible history.

A lovely little town, with incredible history. The buildings haven’t been modernised all that much, but kept in good condition, allowing history buffs to really be immersed in the history of the place. For me personally. I was retracing my great great grandfathers footsteps, who was from Atherstone. I managed to find where he lived and went to school and where is parents probably got married etc. It’s easy to get around and see the town in all its splendour. I will definitely be back again one day.

Lovely picturesque village made a great base for our short sightseeing trip. Good selection of shops and eateries. Parking can be a challenge if you are carrying luggage. The old bakery cafe was a great find.

I stayed for 1 to 2 night's at a time whilst on business, and the Hotel is inside the Town Centre. The food in the Red Lion Hotel is very good with ample choice. There's a choice of good restaurants within walking distance from the hotel, including the "Raj Mahal, Indian Cuisine." There's The Co-op and Aldi's Supermarkets within walking distance from the hotel. There's The Co-op Petrol Station within walking distance from the hotel. Nearby Places of interest by car include: Tamworth, Nuneaton and Coventry.

Staff are very pleasant and most helpful; the food is of a good quality -very tasty and well-presented and served up in a reasonable time even though sometimes are very busy, my first port of call when in Atherstone or the surrounding area, keep up the good work everyone and I hope you got a chocolate?

Comfortable room. Good value. Friendly and efficient staff. Good location, easy to find. Great breakfast at a reasonable price. Only problem was a noisy birthday party going on until quite late. It did not keep me awake but the bass notes of disco made watching the TV a bit harder. I would stay again should the need arise.

The hotel is very old and dated. The Bathroom was freezing with no heating working in there. The radiators in the bedrooms are old and very rusty. When I arrived the rooms were freezing with the windows left wide open and no heating on. The Carpets and decor are very old and needs updating. The hotel needs a full refurb.

We went to the attached restaurant on our 2nd night and the food was beautiful and reasonably priced for the quality This was our 2nd stay and will probably continue to use this hotel for our trips to the NEC as its only 30mins away
