We looked at many properties before deciding to book the Loughview for 5 nights and it far exceeded our expectations. Steve and Orla have created an environment that is so warm and welcoming. A spacious bedroom with a very comfortable bed, large bathroom with a walk in shower and a sitting room with a view that is breath taking. We enjoyed the continental breakfast that was offered every morning, especially the coffee!! Don't hesitate, just book it, you will be glad you did.

Just a perfect place for a guy like me! I'm sure anybody would feel right at home here. I had the single room with a balcony and a picturesque seaside view! I started every morning with an incredible breakfast and because of the ideal location was minutes walking distance to any and everything I could possibly need. The location was perfect, we could walk to a cafe just down at the corner for a wonderful breakfast!! The house was painted outside and in with soothing colors and the wallpapers, accents and decorating were so lovely. The beds were the best we have ever slept in. We want to know the brand of those mattresses, If possible. So clean, everything we could possibly need was accessible!!

Bangor is clearly not what it used to be, but still a very nice town for a visit, nice restaurants, good pubs & friendly locals, hopefully the long awaited modernisation of the sea front will have Bangor back to its former glories.

Bangor is a lovely seaside town with plenty of restaurants, bars and clubs. There's a long beach and a marina. Useful public transport links including the often scenic train ride from Belfast and George Best Airport. I found a good way to explore the town was to find an online guide map to the many impressive murals and street art.

We took our two grandsons 4&7 and were also visiting relatives. So much to do- Mountain Stewart, Pickie Fun Park, Crawfordsburn, amazing Aurora swimming pools, sea life centre at Portaferry, Strangford Loch ferry and relatives.

If the weather had been better we would have visited the...

If the weather had been better we would have visited the nearby beaches. There are plenty of supermarkets and a shopping mall too. We visited the 10 pin bowling alley, which was just perfect for a rainy day. The coastal drive is good and it isn't far from Cultra where the Ulster Folk and Transport Museums are located. These are definitely worth a visit. We ate at Bryansburn Inn. It wasn't too busy, the food was fabulous and at a very reasonable price.

Bangor is a really nice costal 'small' city.

Bangor is a really nice costal 'small' city. Facilities and amenities were very good and there is an excellent coastal walk. A large group of us eat at 'The Nines' and the food and service was very good and is recommended. Definitely think we will be coming back for a long Weekend. A small group of us went in the snug (with the Dog) for a drink, nice place for a Guinness.

The town seems to be in a slow downward spiral, certainly more commercial properties are closed/boarded up than when we last visited. Easons must be closed 4+ years, and is still empty and covered with graffiti. Everything from there down to the marina on both sides now closed up. Even "The Goats Toe" bar is closed, which we've enjoyed in the past, as a live music/food venue. Strange considering the size of the town, railway station, marina and obvious wealth ( looking at the houses, anyway)

Stayed here for my birthday. The staff were very friendly and helpful. We had lunch, dinner and breakfast the next morning. The food was 10/10!! Our room was very modern with sea views. The bathroom was clean and had a lovely walk in shower. Mini shampoos and conditioners was a nice touch in the bathroom. I used to stay in the Nines years ago when it was called the Bangor Bay. I liked the way the hotel has been updated but it still has the charm and old features of the building. Can’t wait to come back!!
