The home easily accommodated a six people in a three generation break. It is newly decorated, clean, warm and close to the shops of Langholm. If on -street parking is not available there is a large, free car park about 100m away. There were some basic foods & milk left for us in the well equipped kitchen and plenty of games to keep youngsters away from the TV (which has Netflix and Prime ). The one large bathroom has both a bath and separate shower. The beds are comfortable and bedrooms have plenty of storage spaces. We enjoyed a short walk on the other side of the river, chosen from the leaflets in the information folder.

Stables Cottage, a property with a garden, is located in Langholm, 31 km from Cumbria County Council, 32 km from Carlisle Railway Station, as well as 32 km from Carlisle Castle.

Beautiful old pub with lovely hosts. The room was bright, comfortable.and very quiet.The bar, although not open yet (plans are to open soon) has character and is cosy , we were lucky enough to sit by the fire. The owners are very welcoming and couldn’t be more helpful. Breakfast was a fantastic with a variety of options. A perfect spot to stay not far off the highway. A must are Kathy’s Ecclefechan tarts!

I was really surprised by the spacious room for our group of four friends. Parking was possible either just a few steps from the entrance to the hotel (free of charge only between 6 PM - 8 AM) or on a free parking yard some 150m from the hotel. I also enjoyed the dinner served directly at the hotel which was a bit of a surprise for such a small Scottish town of Lockerbie and available at a quite favourable price.

Large historic building, very impressive features, but decorated in a modern way. Although it wasn’t a cold November, a wood burning stove was lit in the dining room, giving the room a warm and cosy atmosphere. We had a delicious meal, perfectly cooked. The owner was very friendly and helpful, as soon as we had checked in, he took our luggage to our room without being asked. My husband is disabled but likes to do things himself even if he struggles so this was a huge help. All in all, a lovely overnight stay, I would recommend highly.
