Excellent place to stay. Warm and friendly from the reception, check-in to the room temperature. It was a freezing night in SE Scotland, but the hotel and room were warm and cosy. The evening meal was lovely and well-priced. Breakfast was amazing, and a challenge to finish it all. It was an exceptional stay. Will return.

It’s located in a little fishing town, but I had plenty of room and that I was able to bring my bike into the little garden room overnight, so I didn’t have to worry about it being left in the car

Borgue is rural so definitely need bikes or car to get...

Borgue is rural so definitely need bikes or car to get around. However if you want to stay in the same place it’s perfect for walking, bird watching and just chilling out in the garden. Everyone is very friendly and the local borgue hotel is great for a refreshing drink and bar meal and they also welcome dogs in the bar. A very memorable hamlet inbetween kirkudbright and gatehouse of fleet.
