We were pleased to have booked 'One Holyrood Hotel' - it was a lovely stay with wonderful, friendly staff and our room was great!! We stayed in Room 5 which had a lovely carved wooden bed and very comfy mattress! The breakfast was excellent with quite a good selection of eggs, meats, cereals, etc. and was delicious! They have a beautiful garden in the back of the hotel with tables/chairs to sit and enjoy a drink or just relax after a day of sightseeing to admire the flowers especially the wisteria trailing over the arbour. The location is only a 5 minute walk from the bus station, easy to get to anywhere you desire on the Island. We bought a 7 day pass which allowed us to hop on/off, change bus #'s and explore the quaint villages and coastline.....all wonderful!! We highly recommend staying at 'One Holyrood Hotel' - you'll be happy you did!!

Very comfortable room - lots of powerpoints, TV, hot drinks and snacks. And I especially appreciated the little bottle of fresh milk for tea/coffee each day. Nice touches in the decor, little Buddhas in the potted plants in the bathroom summed up the care put into this accommodation.

We loved the lodge so much it was cosy & comfortable. Lovely little touches like eggs, bread & milk left for us on arrival. Self check in was easy, the bath was lovely just a shame it was a cloudy evening. Perfect location, very peaceful & private. Would definitely recommend & would stay here again without question.

This is the perfect country pub. It is stylish and clean and the food is excellent, but it is not in the slightest pretentious or ‘gastro’. We ate a delicious dinner, stayed in an extremely comfortable, well decorated and well maintained, family room and ate a hearty, gourmet standard, breakfast featuring local produce. The rate for the room and breakfast was so reasonable it seemed wrong not to be paying more. Best of all, the staff were unusually friendly, welcoming and good with our three, often boisterous, children. They even rang us ahead of our arrival to warn that there was a party being held in the pub the evening of our arrival and letting us know that it might be noisy (which it was not!). I could not recommend this hotel and restaurant more highly.

It is situated in the countryside but only a ten minute...

It is situated in the countryside but only a ten minute drive into Newport. The area is quiet with beautiful views. Although it is in the countryside you are never far from amenities, places to visit or for food. There are bus stops not far from the property but was unsure how regularly the buses passed through. All in all a lovely place to stay.

The IOW is a lovely seaside destination with plenty to do...

The IOW is a lovely seaside destination with plenty to do and see. The house is well placed being in the middle of the island. We had everything we could hope for in self catering accommodation. It was cosy, clean and well equipped. I loved seeing baby rabbits in the garden morning and evening, and hearing the sheep and lambs. We felt well looked after.
