Beautiful room, lovely views and powerful shower with a well appointed bathroom. Great to have homemade jams with breakfast and an endless supply of tea! Lovely to sit down and have a chat with the owner, thank for making me feel so welcome Natalie. It’s proximity to Batemans for a Rudyard Kipling immersion is worth a stay alone.

We had the loveliest stay at Kipling Cottage over the festive period. Karin and her husband were really friendly and hospitable with some little touches that made the stay extra special whilst the cottage itself is so cosy. We were drawn to the quriky aesthetic and beautiful grounds, which absolutely lived up to the photos. The spiral staircase took a bit of getting used to, but we found it really nice having separation between the bedroom/en suite and the rest of the living space. Kitchen has everything you need to cook a meal and the separate dining room is a nice space to eat in. TV is more than big enough and there's Sky so plenty of choice for what to watch whilst you cosy up. Bed was super comfy and loved the smell of the toiletries on offer. The cottage is well located with lots of beautiful countryside to explore nearby, and being able to stay with our dog was a bonus. All in all, couldn't have been a better stay and we'd definitely look to book Kipling Cottage again to make use of the summer house and cinema!

Just everything. The place is so cozy and local in a cute town, the cottage was just amazing. We got upgraded from deluxe double to a cute cottage, which was amazing - but I think it would have also been super cute to stay in the room above the pub. The food was also good and very fairly priced. The staff was kind and helpful. It was the perfect weekend getaway for me and my partner.

Absolutely stunning village surrounded by equally stunning...

Absolutely stunning village surrounded by equally stunning countryside, which is immediately accessible by walking. Burwash does look like somewhere straight out of a Hardy novel. Sadly it is ruined by traffic and people speeding through the village. So many of them don't seem to be able to read a 30 mph sign.

I enjoyed every aspect of my stay. The staff were very friendly and helpful. The pub has a nice welcoming atmosphere. The food is superb, nice produce. Compliments to the chef. My accommodation was better than I thought. Very clean with all the facilities I need. This motel is in a fantastic location for walkers with or with dogs. The views are lovely. The bear garden is very pretty and spacious.

Burwash Village is a beautiful village. Great walks nearby.

Burwash Village is a beautiful village. Great walks nearby. Close to the National Trust Property, Batemans. There is a useful grocery store which stocks all your essentials The little tea room on the High Street is a must visit. Amazing cakes served by really friendly staff. the Rose and Crown pub is a must too, very quaint and again the service is excellent. Very friendly and the rooms for B&B are very clean. Do not go to the Bear pub or stay at the Bear Hotel. The staff are very rude and don't deserve your custom Burwash is ideally placed for Hastings, Eastbourne and Tunbridge Wells

I was very happy with the location of the hotel in a historical building, although the motel section where I stayed in is from 1970. Staff were very helpful and understanding. I was able to walk across the road to take the local bus to Etchingham Railway Station for my train to London. I enjoyed the fish and chips and chicken caesar salad at the pub. There was a great view from the outdoor area. The motel was also within walking distance to the National Trust Bateman's, the estate of Sir Rudyard Kipling.

Excellent host, very flexible. Lovely rural location very near to Batemans NT and our son's wedding that we were going to the next day in Ticehurst. Nice light and airy room with double aspect windows and lovely views over garden and surrounding countryside. Good bathroom with walk-in shower. Burwash village a short walk up the road. Enjoyed dinner at the Rose and Crown pub.

It is a lovely quintessential old English pub. Lots of character in the beautiful area of Burwash East Sussex. We stayed for just one night, but were made so welcome by everyone working there. Thank you one and all. Plenty of choice for our evening meal which was delicious. I was happy with the range of Harveys beers available and chill out at this gem of a pub.

The staff members we met were all welcoming and friendly. The pub had a lot of olde world charm and the village of Burwash was also charming. The vege breakfasts were compact and very nice and the chef was attentive.
